He believes that the pirate who was last in possession of a great treasure passed by the desert island that Godzilla seemingly protects, and what better place to hide a fortune than one guarded by a creature most would be too cowardly to go near. Mad Cave Studios and Tatsunoko Production Partner To Publish Gatchaman Comics

Mad Cave Studios and Tatsunoko Production have officially partnered to publish Gatchaman comics for adult and teen readers.

Science Ninja Team Gatchaman (科学忍者隊ガッチャマン) is a Japanese animated franchise about a five-member superhero ninja team created and produced by Tatsunoko Production, with the original anime series debuting back in 1972. The series centers around five young superhero ninjas employed by Kōzaburō Nambu of the fictitious International Science Organization to oppose Galactor, an international terrorist organization of technologically advanced villains who are trying to control Earth’s natural resources, such as water, oil, sugar, and uranium. Recurring themes of Gatchaman involve conservation, environmentalism, and the responsible use of technology for progress.

Under the agreement, Mad Cave Studios will be publishing new Gatchaman stories that take place in the world of the original series setting, staying true to the timeless classic.

The first Gatchaman release is slated for 2024.

In the 1500s, before humanity had successfully traveled the entire globe, it was believed that monsters ruled the oceans just beyond the horizon. “Here there be dragons…” was written on maps to denote the areas people dared not go.That is, until Sir Francis Drake circumnavigated the seas, visiting foreign lands and collecting treasure. That’s what history tells us, at least, but history does not have the full tale. Monsters did lurk yonder, living on an island that still doesn’t appear on any map, and among them was the king of them all-Godzilla!

From Frank Tieri and Inaki Miranda, the incredible team behind Old Lady Harley, comes a Godzilla adventure like no other.

Beware the Maritime Menaces of Monster Island in Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons

IDW Publishing turns back the hands of time with the upcoming comic book miniseries Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons. Written by Frank Tieri and illustrated by Inaki Miranda, the creative team behind the DC Comics’ Old Lady Harley series, this five-part epic, beginning in June, takes readers back to an era of seafaring and superstition for a Godzilla adventure like no other.

In the 1500s, before humanity had successfully traveled the entire globe, it was believed that monsters ruled the oceans just beyond the horizon. “Here there be dragons…” was written on maps to denote the areas people dared not go. That is, until Sir Francis Drake circumnavigated the seas, visiting foreign lands and collecting treasure. Or…at least that’s what history tells us. The truth is, tremendous beasts did lurk yonder, dwelling on an island that doesn’t appear on any map, even to this day. And among those monsters was the king of them all…Godzilla!

Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons #1 will be available with multiple cover variants for retailers and fans to enjoy, including Cover A by series illustrator Inaki Miranda, Cover B by Tyler Kirkham, and two retailer incentive editions by Kirkham and Benjamin Dewey.
