Gail Simone and Ig Guara team for She-Spawn in May 2026

Todd McFarlane Productions has announced She-Spawn, a new five-issue Spawn Universe miniseries written by award-winning comics writer Gail Simone and illustrated by Ig Guara. The series marks Simone’s first project collaborating alongside Todd McFarlane and arrives in stores this May 6 with a robust debut presentation of multiple cover options.

She-Spawn centers around Jessica Priest, a character whose life has been shaped by violence, duty, and sacrifice. A former solider, assassin, superhero, and mother, Priest now finds herself pulled into a brutal confrontation with an angelic cult determined to sacrifice a child in the name of their God. What begins as a mission quickly becomes something far more personal, forcing Jessica to confront the regret and responsibility that have followed her long after she stepped into the role of She-Spawn.

Jessica Priest has been leading The Scorched super-hero team under the watchful eye of Spawn, serving as a crucial line of defense when he cannot be everywhere at once. Readers have seen her navigate high-stakes missions and mounting pressure throughout The Scorched regular comic series, which is about to reach its 50th issue. While this She-Spawn miniseries stands on its own as a complete story arc, it draws from the character’s existing history, offering a deeper look at her current state of mind rather than tying directly to a specific event or crossover.

Simone brings her distinct voice to this new She-Spawn series, leaning into themes of power, consequences, and moral ambiguity while framing Jessica Priest as a deeply human figure navigating a supernatural world.

She-Spawn #1 will hit comic shops on Wednesday, May 6. The first issue features a range of covers that reflect the series’ darker tone. In addition to the main cover by interior artist Guara, the debut issue includes variant covers by Francesco Mattina and Brett Booth, along with a virgin black-and-white edition of Booth’s artwork and a blank sketch cover for collectors,

  • She-Spawn #1 Cover A by Guara
  • She-Spawn #1 Cover B by Mattina
  • She-Spawn #1 Cover C Blank Sketch
  • She-Spawn #1 Cover D by Booth
  • She-Spawn #1 Cover E Virgin B&W variant by Booth

THE TIN CAN SOCIETY is a heartfelt and human look at the evolution of friendships across a lifetime, at disability and ableism, and the destructive power of fame.

The first graphic novel of a brand-new miniseries from Giant Generator showcasing the first comics work by screenwriter and incredible talent PETER WARREN (The Incal feature film, Kill Me) with jaw-dropping art by FRANCESCO MOBILI (X-Men, Scumbag) and beautifully colored by CHRIS CHUCKRY (New X-Men, Gen 13).

Johnny Moore is a world-famous tech mogul known as much for his work pioneering mobility aids for people with disabilities (like himself) as he is for moonlighting as the metal-suited vigilante, CALIBURN.
