Zenescope’s Kickstarter Successfully Funded, 6th Highest Funded Fim/Video Project

Zenescope Entertainment has announced that its Kickstarter.com project for the Grimm Fairy Tales Animated Series has been successfully funded. The Kickstarter campaign ended on May 1st at 6pm EST and it reached a total of $188,970 in pledges which surpassed the set goal of $175,000.  It is the 6th highest funded film and video project in Kickstarter’s two year history.

The Grimm Fairy Tales Animated series is being directed by Jon Schnepp (Metalocalypse, The Venture Brothers) with Titmouse Studios handling the animation.  The pilot will begin pre-production immediately and is planned for a late 2012 release.  It already boasts an impressive cast of voice talent, artists and animators.  More information about who is involved in the series can be seen on the series’ Kickstarter page. http://kck.st/wjSM8D

“This is an amazing accomplishment and it really belongs to the fans and friends of Zenescope who got behind this and made it happen.” said Zenescope co-founder Ralph Tedesco “We’re humbled by and appreciative of everyone’s pledges these last 6 weeks and we’re ready to start making a kick-ass series for our fans.”

Zenescope Entertainment is growing its brand into a variety of new mediums apart from just comic books and this series. The company is releasing its first line of action figures based on its original comic book characters as well as a board game based on its popular Wonderland comic book series.  The company also made an announcement earlier this week that Brett Ratner and Rat Entertainment have teamed with Zenescope to bring its comic book series, THE LIBRARY, to the big screen.
