Vaesen Launches on Fantasy Grounds and Steam

Vaesen

Be aware, the land of Vaesen is not as we know it today, this is a land where the myths are real. A cold reach covered by vast forests, its few cities lonely beacons of industry and enlightenment where a new civilization dawning. But in the countryside, the old ways still hold sway. There, people know what lurks in the dark. They know to fear it…

The Vaesen RPG Core Rulebook has launched on Fantasy Grounds and Steam, fully integrated with the VTT platform, with online maps and diagrams, player handouts ready to share, online character sheets, customized virtual dice roller, and more.

Vaesen is written by praised game writer Nils Hintze, based on the work of the acclaimed illustrator & author Johan Egerkrans. The game offers a dark Gothic setting steeped in Nordic folklore. The game mechanics use an adapted version of the award-winning Year Zero Engine created by Free League Publishing.

Vaesen – A Wicked Secret & And Other Mysteries offers four strange mysteries: The Silver of the Sea, A Wicked Secret, The Night Sow and The Song of the Falling Star. The adventures are all playable on their own or as a part of a longer campaign for brave investigators that dare to stare into the darkness. Check it out on Fantasy Grounds and Steam.

The ALIEN RPG Spawns on Virtual Tabletop Platforms. Game NOT Over Man!

Alien The Roleplaying Game

“I can’t lie to you about your chances, but … you have my sympathies.”

Space is vast, dark, and not your friend. Now you and your crew can explore the ALIEN universe through virtual tabletop gaming. The award-winning official ALIEN RPG was launched today on two VTT platforms: Roll20 and Fantasy Grounds.

At Roll20, you can find a virtual tabletop version of the ALIEN RPG Starter Set, including all the rules you need to play and the full-length cinematic scenario Chariot of the Gods, written by scifi author Andrew E.C. Gaska. On the platform, you can also find the scenario Destroyer of Worlds, a sequel to Chariot of the Gods also written by Gaska and requiring only the Starter Set to play.

On Fantasy Grounds, you can find the ALIEN RPG core rulebook, a full conversion of the hardcover book of a massive 392 pages, as well as the Chariot of the Gods and Destroyer of Worlds scenarios.

All modules are fully integrated with the VTT platforms, with online maps and diagrams, player handouts ready to share, online character sheets, customized virtual dice roller, and more.

The core rulebook for the official ALIEN roleplaying game was released in December 2019 in partnership with 20th Century Studios. The game immediately sold out its first print run and swiftly entered the Top-5 list of best-selling tabletop RPGs in the fall of 2019. It won the ENNIE Award for Best Game 2020 and the People’s Choice Award for Best RPG at the UK Game Expo. The game is currently being translated into seven languages.

Dungeons & Dragons Comes to Virtual Tabletop

Sample Dragon NPCWizards of the Coast and SmiteWorks today announced the launch of Dungeons & Dragons content in Fantasy Grounds, the online virtual tabletop. Fantasy Grounds is an application developed by SmiteWorks to help gamers play tabletop role playing games over the internet. D&D fans can now play D&D adventures online inside Fantasy Grounds by purchasing and downloading the virtual tabletop via the Fantasy Grounds website or on Steam. All of the rules, classes and monsters available in the core rulebooks has been converted to be usable within Fantasy Grounds.

The DM runs the game like any other D&D session, with mapping, combat and skill checks all automated through Fantasy Grounds. One of the greatest experiences in Fantasy Grounds is rolling 3D animated dice and having the results shown to the whole table. The drama of rolling that natural 20 against the big ogre about to pummel the party feels just like the group was physically sitting together. Players can download the Fantasy Grounds client, available from FantasyGrounds.com or from Steam, and log in to your Dungeon Master’s specific table.

Now players can purchase the D&D Complete Core Class Pack with all the class, feats, spells and equipment or can purchase individual classes based on what the group is using. It’s possible to buy the monsters in packs separated by monster type like aberrations or dragons or as the D&D Complete Core Monster Pack. All of these packs have been converted to work tightly with Fantasy Grounds to give players the best possible gaming experience. Each pack contains all the great artwork and content from the official products published by Wizards. Not only will players get the same content that can be found in print, but they’ll also get a new UI theme for the client, as well as adventures and content customized specifically for ease of play inside of Fantasy Grounds.

The adventure found in the D&D Starter Set – the Lost Mine of Phandelver – is available for purchase now, and SmiteWorks will be bringing the Tyranny of Dragons and Elemental Evil storylines

Dungeon Masters and players on a budget might pick up a Player Customization Pack and one or two Class Packs. Dungeon Masters can often get by with just the Adventure of their choice and one or two Monster Packs. Players can gift purchases through Steam for Dungeon Masters who have linked their license on Steam.

Fight cunning beholders and ancient red dragons with long-distance friends! Roll that virtual d20 with advantage!
