Blood Battles for Her Life in Blood & Thunder #18

Skybound and Image Comics have revealed interior pages and the lineup of variant covers for Blood & Thunder #18. From the creative team of writer Benito Cereno, artist E.J. Su , colorist MsassyK, letterer Rus Wooton, and co-creator Robert Kirkman, the conclusion to the latest story arc ushers the series into a new phase and arrives in comic book shops on October 14, 2026. 

What’s better than one cantankerous, sentient gun to help you win the fight of your life? If you ask Blood, the answer is a LOT more guns.  

Blood & Thunder is a high-octane sci-fi action epic set in the far future. Earth has integrated alien species into society, but this new order has brought new kinds of laws, crimes, and dangers. The story follows bounty hunter Akeldama “Blood” Bledsoe and her talking gun, Thunder, two of the galaxy’s best at tracking down the worst criminals.

In addition to the main cover by E.J. Su and Dee Cunniffe, the lineup of variant covers for Blood & Thunder #18  also includes an open-to-order cover by Nick Roche and Josh Burcham, a 1:10 incentive variant cover by Karen S. Darboe, and a 1:25 incentive variant cover by Pete Woods.

ROM returns! ROM Special #1 and M.A.S.K. Origins #1 go Open to Order

Skybound, Image Comics, and Hasbro have announced the much-demanded open to order release of ROM Special #1, reprinting the surprise first appearance of the pop culture icon in the Energon Universe, as well as M.A.S.K. Origins #1. Both issues initially released in the M.A.S.K. #1 Blind Bag program and will now be available at comic book shops on August 26, 2026. 

Void Rivals co-creators, writer Robert Kirkman and artist Lorenzo De Felici, reunited to introduce space knight ROM to the Energon Universe in this standalone special issue.  

ROM Special #1 features a main cover by Lorenzo De Felici and a variant cover program including open to order covers by Christian Ward, E.J. Su, Nick Bradshaw and Jim Charalampidis, a foil, die-cut mask cover by John Amor, and a blank sketch cover. 

Fans can expect to see more of ROM and his alien companion ‘Carpet’ in upcoming issues of Void Rivals! 

M.A.S.K. Origins #1 is a double-sized issue that collects the first appearances of M.A.S.K. and V.E.N.O.M. and other landmark Energon Universe moments that led to the launch of M.A.S.K.! 

M.A.S.K. Origins #1 features a main cover by series artist Pye Parr and a variant cover program including open to order covers by Jason Howard, Ethan Young, Danilo Beyruth and Neeraj Menon, and Ben Oliver.

Skybound, Image Comics, and Hasbro have shared a first look at preview pages and covers from  M.A.S.K. #1, the debut issue of the all-new Energon Universe series by writer Dan Watters, artist Pye Parr, colorist Pierluigi Casolino, and letterer Rus Wooton. The first issue of this monumental new ongoing series lands in comic shops on June 10, 2026.

In celebration of M.A.S.K.’s arrival in the Energon Universe, Skybound and Hasbro will feature an exclusive first look at M.A.S.K. in the Energon Universe Special 2026, a Free Comic Book Day issue releasing Saturday, May 2, 2026. The special issue will include four all-new stories from TRANSFORMERS, G.I. JOE, and VOID RIVALS and will serve as the first official glimpse into Dan Watters and Pye Parr’s M.A.S.K.
