In the midst of the Third Crusade, an exceptionally brutal Templar Knight finds himself accidentally transported to a dangerous realm of magic and monsters.

A nameless Templar Knight from the Third Crusade finds himself magically transported to a mysterious world filled with sorcery and monsters. In order to survive, the ferocious Crusader must reevaluate his penchant for violent righteousness and make peace with both himself and this ruthless world. But will peace be enough to stop the deathless, power-hungry ghoul known only as The Pilgrim?

The Crusader and Grimbel take shelter in a run-down old mill town, but their privacy is short-lived when Meridian and her troupe of heroes, The Eighteen, arrive looking for them. As night falls, Pilgrim appears to confront The Crusader, however, The Eighteen stand in his way of capturing the Crusader for his Masters’ nefarious ends.

NYCC 2023: Mad Cave Studios Unveils its Exciting Schedule of Events and Exclusives

Fans of comics, pop culture, and entertainment are in for a treat. Mad Cave Studios is heading to the highly-anticipated New York Comic Con (Oct. 12 – 16) at the Javits Center in New York City at booth #3441!

With a jam-packed schedule of panels, signings, exclusives and more, there’s a little something for everyone to enjoy including imprints, Papercutz and Maverick. Readers of all ages can discover imaginative new worlds with Papercutz, and young adults are invited to find themselves within the pages of Maverick.

Artist and writer Matt Emmons, redefines what it means to be “righteous” in Mad Cave’s upcoming fantasy adventure!

Writer and artist Matt Emmons and Ukrainian letterer, Andriy Lukin, have teamed up for the new beautifully illustrated action/fantasy series, Crusader, from Mad Cave Studios! 

A Templar Knight finds himself transported to a dangerous realm known as the Beastlands. With sinister entities known as The Masters hunting him down, all he has is his sword and a weird, goblin-like creature named Grimbel to guide him through this strange new world.

Andriy Lukin was a winner in Mad Cave Studios’ Talent Search in 2022, and also specializes in creating logotypes, book design and cover art for comic books, music albums, and tabletop games. Matt Emmons’ Gardner debuted with over 1400 backers on Kickstarter in 2022. The creative team previously worked on the Dagger Dagger Anthology. 

Crusader #1 is expected in shops Sept. 6, and features Cover B by Michael Walsh.
