Botcon 2015: Hasbro Reveals More Transformers Coming to Shelves

At this weekend’s Botcon, Hasbro revealed its upcoming Transformers releases for 2015 and early 2016. The releases include numerous waves for their Generations Combiner Wars line of toys that ties into the IDW Publishing comic series, as well as more figures from their Robots in Disguise line of figures.

The figures allow numerous figures who haven’t traditionally combined to be able to, playing off the current storyline.

Transformers Generations Combiner Wars

Wave 4

Out later in 2015… Galvatronus!? What Gestalt combination is this? The line of figures includes lots of classics updated including Ironhide, Starscream, Skywarp, Rodimus, Prowl, Mirage, Sunstreaker, and a new Optimus Prime dubbed “Binary Armor.”

Wave 1

Out in 2016, this first wave of the year features Bruticus, including Brawl, Blastoff, Swindle, Onslaught,and Vortex. There’s another version of Skywarp it looks like, as well as Buzzsaw, Chopshop, and Pipes. But even better…. Shockwave!

Wave 2

The second wave for 2016 features a new combiner named Sky Reign. It’s made up of the various releases for this wave except one it looks like. Sky Reign features Hound, Smokescreen, Trailbreaker, Wheeljack, and Skylynx. Wreckgar is also being released!

Robot in Disguise

There’s a line of figures featuring Alpine, Night Ops, Sideswipe, Gold Armor Grimlock and Night Ops Bumblbee, and another Bumblebee with a slightly different color scheme than currently on the show.

Tiny Titans

No idea what these are, but it looks like a new line of figures with a rather cool look to them.

If you’re a fan of Transformers, it looks like Hasbro will continue to drain your wallet well into 2016. There’s quite a few figures I’d love to get.

SDCC 2015: Hasbro’s Transformers Exclusives

Hasbro has revealed the exclusive Transformers figures that they’ll be selling at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The sets include a special edition Devastator as well as well as Combiner Hunters from the recent Combiner Wars and upcoming Combiner Hunters storylines from IDW Publishing‘s Transformers comics that also saw a toy line released as tie-ins.

Toy Fair 2015: Transformers Generations Combiner Wars

Hasbro’s Transformers Generations line of action figures features characters and expressions from throughout the more than 30 years of the Transformers brand. In 2015 the Generations line unites under one big story – Combiner Wars!

Courage is Stronger Combined! In the Combiner Wars, giant super robots, formed by teams of Autobots and Decepticons, battle for the fate of the universe. The evil Decepticon Starscream plans to use these giant robots as weapons to lay waste to entire planets, conquering worlds with the might of the powerful but unstable Decepticon Combiner: Menasor. An All-Out Arms Race Takes Hold of Cybertron! Combiners Wars is Coming

The biggest Transformers publishing event of the year kicks off this March when Cybertron becomes the battleground for the Combiner Wars! An all-star creative team is bringing along fan-favorite characters and all-new dangers to this battle royale that will shake both factions to their core.

The “Opening Salvo” is fired in Transformers #39, and the war begins in earnest in the debut issue of the brand-new Windblade series from the acclaimed creative team of Mairghread Scott and Sarah Stone. The shaky peace between the Autobots and Decepticons is threatened when Cybertron’s leader, Starscream, stands against Optimus Prime and raises an unstoppable army of Combiners, threatening Windblade’s long-lost homeworld.

In the release Scott said the series will showcase new characters, new worlds, in a battle with some of the biggest “bots you’ve ever seen.”

The ongoing Transformers series written by John Barber welcomes Primacy artist Livio Ramondelli on to the series for this epic arc. “From day one of this series,” says Barber, “we’ve been seeding the mystery and power of Combiners—multiple Cybertronians who form together into bigger, more powerful wholes. Starscream realizes he needs one of his own to protect Cybertron… but why stop at one Combiner—or one world?”

The arms-race of Combiners will bring fan-favorite Transformers characters to the pages of IDW comics for the first time ever—and introduce a new Combiner guaranteed to melt the internet. Featuring standard covers by Casey W. Coller and subscription covers by Ramondelli, the epic Combiner Wars event will be an integral part of Hasbro’s 2015 Transformers: Generations Combiner Wars toy line, reaching a massive fan-base and will be supported across multi-media platforms.

If retailers order 250 copies each of TRANSFORMERS #39 and TRANSFORMERS: WINDBLADE #1, they’ll get two special covers by Travis Sengaus depicting that retailer’s store being protected by Superion (on TRANSFORMERS #39) and destroyed by Devastator (on TRANSFORMERS: WINDBLADE #1). And best of all… those two covers COMBINE into one mega-image!

DeNA and Hasbro Reveal Transformers: Battle Tactics

DeNA and Hasbro have announced Transformers: Battle Tactics, a new turn-based tactical combat game based on the Transformers universe, is currently in development for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and Android devices. In Transformers: Battle Tactics, players will collect iconic Transformers characters, assembling teams of Autobots and Decepticons characters, including fan favorites found within the pages of the IDW Combiner Wars series, to battle friends and fans from around the globe. Players and Transformers fans can pre-register to receive updates about the game and unlock powerful in-game content for everyone at launch at the website: www.transformersbattletactics.com.

Transformers: Battle Tactics will be available as a free download and will feature more than 75 classic Transformers characters including Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, and Bumblebee. Battles are swift and require strategic decision-making to propel players to victory. Each Transformers character has unique stats and abilities, which shift as players convert them from robot to their alternate mode. The unique graphic style is inspired by the Tramsformers Generations Combiner Wars characters and comic book series. Transformers: Battle Tactics includes an expansive single-player campaign, story-driven in-game events and real-time player-vs-player (PvP) matches for players around the world to engage in strategic battles and rise to the top of the leaderboards.
