Acclaimed Slayers: A Buffyverse Story audio drama co-writers and co-directors Amber Benson and Christopher Golden are returning to the realm of horror for original Irish folk comic book series The Heir, coming from Mad Cave Studios. The upcoming five-issue limited series will be illustrated by Irish artist Gavin Fullerton and feature colors by Juancho!, and letters by Becca Carey. Fans of Hokum, Ready or Not, The Haunting of Hill House, and Irish folklore will love this dark supernatural tale following a young woman’s Gothic-tinged descent into madness in a mysterious Irish estate full of family secrets, where she’ll have to fight against ominous forces for the one she loves.

In The Heir, Dani’s first trip to Ireland with her fiancé, Conor, was supposed to revolve around them announcing their engagement to his family. Instead, it’s the funeral of his grandfather, immersing Dani in a labyrinth of family secrets, child abduction, dark history, and ancient Irish folklore. Spiraling into murder, curses, and monstrosity, The Heir thrusts Dani into a race against time to save the one she loves the most, no matter the cost.

The first issue will feature variant covers by an all-star lineup of artists including Jamie McKelvie, Mike Mignola, Rebekah Isaacs with colors by Marissa Louise, and Chuma Hill, to be revealed soon.

The first issue of The Heir will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, January 13, 2027 (FOC November 30, 2026).

Gothic Nightmares Get a Manga Mayhem Makeover in Miss Mina and The Midnight Guardians

Artist Drew Moss Drops Into ThunderCats X SilverHawks!

Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products have announced an exciting surprise update to the ThunderCats X SilverHawks comic book crossover event. Fan-favorite artist Drew Moss is dropping in and will be joining the expansive creative team, as the ongoing interior artist for the flagship ThunderCats X SilverHawks series past the first issue.

Now expanding the cockpit back to a two-seater, Declan Shalvey welcomes Drew on board for more fun! The creative duo were at ground zero collaborating on ThunderCats #1 in February 2024 when it blew fans away and scorched up the charts. Comics franchise editor Nate Cosby tagged in a few guest creators for a string of acclaimed special breather issues between story arcs, but Moss was the powerhouse illustrating the vast majority of issues in the series for over two years, including several covers too. And he continues that signature association and run with the biggest story yet!

Following the un-spoiled events of the first issue and accompanying second and third chapters of the crossover in its companion titles, both the ThunderCats and SilverHawks squads find themselves reeling. The ‘Hawks descend upon Third Earth, with plans to apprehend every ‘Cat in sight. What they can’t account for is the ferocious feline instincts of Cheetara!

In addition to the pulse-pounding storytelling of Shalvey and Moss, ThunderCats X SilverHawks #2 sports electrifying covers by Shalvey, Lucio Parrillo, Eric Canete, Chuma Hill, and a piece from the animation archives.

Skybound Reveals Variant Covers for Ghost Pepper #7

Skybound and Image Comics have revealed the variant cover lineup for Ghost Pepper #7, from creator/writer/artist/letterer Ludo Lullabi and colorist Adriano Lucas. Ghost Pepper #7 continues the new arc of the fiery action series and will arrive in comic book shops on January 21, 2026. 

Ghost Pepper  has introduced readers to a reality where humanity survived a monstrous threat, but the world isn’t better for everyone. Every day Loloi hits the road to deliver her delicious cooking to the masses, outsmarting her treacherous competition and staying one step ahead of the massive robots “protecting” them all. But everything changes when she serves a mysterious warrior named Ash, whose secrets might just save the world…if his superhuman strength doesn’t destroy it first.
