Baltimore Comic Con 2014: Welcome Ivy, Martinez, and Sniegoski!

armyofdarknessThis Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the Baltimore Comic-Con returns to the Baltimore Convention Center, and they have yet more guests to announce! It has been announced that Chris Ivy, Alitha E. Martinez, and Thomas Sniegoski will be joining the 2014 show.

Chris Ivy, appearing courtesy of the Hero Initiative, began his career in the storied Marvel Bullpen, working under comics greats John Romita and Don Perlin. After a year, he graduated to the life of a freelancer, where he became renowned largely for his inking skills. He has worked on titles such as Marvel’s Alpha Flight, Avengers, Wolverine, and Ghost Rider, Image’s Shadowhawk, Supreme, and Butcher Knight, DC Comics’ JLA, Flash, and Sovereign Seven, and Dark Horse’s Planet of the Apes, Aliens vs. Predator vs. Terminator, and Star Wars Bounty Hunters: Kenix Kil. More recently, his work has been seen in titles from IDW (GI Joe: Cobra Civil War) and Dynamite Entertainment (Army of Darkness). Chris will be sitting in the Hero Initiative Booth #1601.

Martinez jumped right into the deep end of the comic book industry, working as an assistant to now-Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada, initially doing art assists like background work on DC Comics’ Azrael, Event Comics’ Ash, and Marvel Comics’ Daredevil, and assistant inking DC Comics’ Aquaman, before taking over the reins of Marvel’s Iron Man. She then moved onto titles like Battlebooks, Marvel Age Fantastic Four, and Black Panther from Marvel, Batgirl from DC, New Crusaders from Archie Comics, Voltron from Devil’s Due, and the Aspen Comics adaptation of the NBC hit television series Heroes, and has self-publishing her own title, Yume and Ever. Lately, her work can be found in Papercutz’s WWE Superstars and DC Comics’ Vertigo Quarterly CMYK. Find Alitha sitting with Amy Chu in Booth #118!

Thomas Sniegoski is an accomplished author and comic book writer. His prose works include YA titles like teen fantasy series Fallen (which was adapted by ABC Family stupidstupidrattalesChannel into a series of movies), Sleeper Code, and Force Majeure, as well as The Brimstone Network series, the Remy Chandler character series of adult novels, and the young reader series Billy Hooten: Owlboy and Magic Zero. In comics, he wrote the Jeff Smith Bone prequel Silly, Silly Rat Tails (as well as Bone: Quest for the Spark novel adaptations of the character!) from Cartoon Books, Dark Horse’s BPRD: Hollow Earth, Marvel Comics’ Punisher and Wolverine/Punisher: Revelation, and Vampirella Strikes! and The Shadow Annual from Dynamite Entertainment among many others.
