NYCC 2019: VIZ Media Announces its Guests Including the Talent Behind Seis Manos and Castlevania

VIZ Media lines up a weekend of official panels and autograph sessions featuring the creative staff and voice cast from VIZ Media’s Seis Manos and Frederator Studios Castlevania at New York Comic Con 2019 (NYCC). NYCC takes place October 3rd–6th at the Javits Convention Center.

Get the latest news on upcoming anime, manga and video game releases during VIZ Media’s official panel, which will feature Frederator Studios Castlevania’s Creator, Writer and Executive Producer Warren Ellis and voice actors James Callis (voice of Alucard), Graham McTavish (voice of Dracula) and Alejandra Reynoso (voice of Sypha). Fans can dive even deeper into the hit series during the show’s official panel later that weekend, presented and hosted by VIZ Media, with additional appearances by director Sam Deats and asst. director Adam Deats. Fans will also have the opportunity to meet some of the special Castlevania guests during an NYCC autograph session.

VIZ Media’s first original animated property, Seis Manos, comes to New York Comic Con with a special screening of Episode 1 followed by a voice cast and staff Q&A session. Attendees can meet the Seis Manos guests, co-creator Alvaro Rodriguez (Machete, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series), Jonny Cruz (Overwatch) and Angelica Vale (Jane The Virgin), in a special autograph session after the screening. Co-produced by Powerhouse Animation Studios, Seis Manos launches worldwide on Netflix October 3rd.

Castlevania Season 1 Debuts on Blu-Ray and DVD December 4

VIZ Media has announced preorders for the home media release of Castlevania Season 1.

Set to debut on December 4th, the four-episode first season of the series is produced by Frederator Studios and has streamed to wide acclaim on Netflix. Castlevania will be available on Blu-ray, with an MSRP of $24.98 U.S. / $29.99 CAN, and on DVD, with an MSRP of $19.98 U.S. / $24.99 CAN.

Bonus features for the Castlevania Season 1 home media release include on-disc storyboards and art galleries for both the BD and DVD. Exclusive Blu-ray extras include the sketch art-to-animation animatic sequences of Castlevania’s most exciting moments!

Inspired by the classic video game series, Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepes himself. Castlevania TV Series to Receive Collectibles from Diamond Select Toys

For 22 years, the world of Castlevania has enthralled video game enthusiasts with its adventure-oriented take on the Dracula mythos. Then, in 2017, an animated series based on that world debuted on Netflix, receiving an overwhelmingly positive reception from old and new fans alike. With a second season bowing on October 26, Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles, LLC, has been selected as the master toy licensee for the series, with multiple collectible lines planned.

Beginning in 2019, DST will offer products including Select action figures, Gallery PVC dioramas, Vinimates vinyl figures, Minimates mini-figures, resin statues and more. Products will be offered at multiple major retail chains, as well as through independent comic book shops via Diamond Comic Distributors.

Based on the game Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, the Netflix series follows Trevor Belmont as he and other vampire hunters defend the nation of Wallachia from the demonic forces of a vengeful Count Dracula. The show was written by Warren Ellis, writer of a number of acclaimed comic books, including Transmetropolitan, Planetary, The Authority, Global Frequency, Astonishing X-Men and Red, as well as the video games Dead Space, Cold Winter and Hostile Waters. Animation for the anime-influenced series is by Powerhouse Animation Studios.

VIZ Media expands its catalog with the acquisition of Season 1 of Castlevania.

VIZ Media announced the acquisition of Castlevania during its official panel held this past weekend at San Diego Comic-Con. VIZ Media has acquired home media distribution rights to the American anime-influenced series, which is produced by Frederator Studios. Castlevania Season 1 has streamed to wide acclaim on Netflix.
