As if being cursed with the ring of the demon Belial wasn’t bad enough for Victory, now she’s being chased by demons who want the very same ring that she can’t get rid of — making for unpleasant irony and lots of that brimstone smell. Speaking of smell, Victory is escorted to the P.U. (Purgatory Department — no, not that Purgatori) by her new colleagues, Lucy Fuhr and Gaye Briel. There, she gets some face-to-face time with the big boss himself — the Devil!

Victory is a pawn of greater forces no more! From Vampirella’s fiftieth anniversary to her very own series! She started as Vampirella’s lover and ended up a very powerful pawn of Vampi’s mother, Lilith. Along the way, Victory’s made new friends, seen countless horrors, been saddled with a demon’s ring that she can’t get rid of, encountered the ghost of an old friend, and opened too many dimensional gateways to count. Despite that, there’s so much that we don’t know about Victory, like what her childhood was like. Or what she’s been doing with her demon ring and the crazy powers it has granted. Or which old — well, foe wouldn’t exactly be the right word — is about to show up to cheer her on. From writer David F. Walker (Compass, Young Justice, Naomi) and artist Brett Weldele (The Beauty, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?).

Victory at Last! Vampirella’s Lover Turned Foe Stars Solo!

This summer the Vampirella franchise welcomes another new series and an exciting new path for one of its newest stars, as Victory gets the spotlight with writer David F. Walker and artist Brett Weldele this June!

First introduced in the mythos-shattering Vampirella #0 on Free Comic Book Day 2019, fans were introduced to Victoria Harris by Christopher Priest and Ergün Gündüz. The gorgeous African American woman came into Vampirella’s life and alongside other newcomers, set her on quite the roller coaster ride. The two were briefly lovers, and Victoria found herself enamored by Vampi’s remarkable abilities – and even her iconic costume. Along the way she’s since been bestowed with a cursed, demonic ring and turned against her friend by Lilith, the mother of Drakulon.

This summer Eisner-winning writer David F. Walker and Brett Weldele are leveling up Victory from a pawn in the grand game, to a major player. With a stunning white variation on the classic Vampirella costume, and her newly granted powers, how will she leave her own mark on the world, good or bad? Fans will also get to see which old foe (or friend..?) is about to show up to cheer her on.

Now with each page dedicated to the character’s individual story, readers will get a much deeper look at Victory in and out of the costume. The series will dive into nuggets of both her past and present, including her largely unrevealed traumatic childhood.

A talented crew of contributors round out the covers available on the first issue and series. Dave Johnson, Bryan Hitch, Ariel Diaz, Carla Cohen, and Geebo Vigonte all do covers. Cosplayer Alicia Marie also portrays Victory for the character’s first dedicated cosplay cover, with fan-favorite Rachel Hollon guest starring too for double the fun!

INCLUDES A FREE MP3 DOWNLOAD BY OSAKA POPSTAR!
Sweetie Candy Vigilante is a honey-dipped, dark-humor infused horror/fantasy that tells the tale of Sweetie, an ethereal, beautiful, charming, well-meaning (yet unquestionably unhinged) blood relative of the mythological “candy man”…you know, the dude that takes the sunrise and sprinkles it with dew? Yeah — that guy. Dismayed by the blight and decay of her community, Sweetie is hell-bent on enacting a blood-caked, sugar-coated manifesto on society by utilizing her other-worldly powers and proprietary family secrets in her quest to make the world a “sweeter” place. She’s starting brick-by-brick in her hometown, New York City.
In issue #1, on a snowy, icy night, Sweetie pays a visit to a NYC landmark sweet shop known as the Ice Cream Bunny, hoping to find its namesake at the helm. To her dismay, she finds the shop transformed from its once sugary splendor to a salty den of iniquity. The once-beloved store is now a front for a notorious crime syndicate, and they’re not very nice at all. Sweetie uses her captivating persona and unassuming confectionary weapons to tear the place, and its gang of thugs, limb from limb — as the first step to restoring its former glory. All the while enjoying a dynamic punk rendering of the Archies’ pop classic “Sugar, Sugar” on the jukebox, as heads roll — literally.

This issue includes a download code for a free pop-rockin’ MP3 of “Sugar, Sugar,” performed by Osaka Popstar (as featured in the issue) so you can listen along while Sweetie kicks butt! Will Sweetie find any good eggs among the clientele of the Ice Cream Bunny? Who exactly is the Ice Cream Bunny? Who is Sweetie’s oversized Gummee hench-bear? This issue has it all: Blood, guts, and a sugar rush! It’s all going down in the debut issue of “Sweetie Candy Vigilante.” Isn’t that nice?
Sweetie Candy Vigilante kicks off with an extra-sized Dynamite Debut issue to get you hungry for more! So buckle up gum-drop, and make sure you save room for dessert, because, it’s not like a little sugar is going to KILL you, RIGHT?
