Wolverine claws his way through Marvel history with variant covers in January 2024

Next year marks 50 years of Wolverine being the best there is and Marvel will celebrate its most ferocious hero in various ways including new series like the recently announced Wolverine: Madripoor Knights, special reprints, and a new variant cover program!

Launching in January, the Wolverine Wolverine Wolverine Variant Covers sees Logan take over the most iconic covers in Marvel Comics history, filling in as each and every character along the way! The covers gave artists the chance to spotlight their favorite Wolverine costumes, identities, and alternate versions, and also feature other members of the “Snikt Family.” It’s the perfect way to celebrate one of Marvel’s most ubiquitous and storied heroes and proves that there’s no such thing as too much Wolverine!

Miss Minutes returns to Marvel comics with Variant Covers

It’s time to check in with Miss Minutes again! Throughout August, the mysterious mascot of the Time Variance Authority will adorn some of the month’s hottest titles in 8 all-new variant covers. Her charming 2021 debut in Marvel Studios’ Loki on Disney+ was a hit with fans and these stunning covers are sure build up the excitement for her return in Loki season 2 later this year. The covers showcase the character being her delightful self in a wide range of situations and settings, all brought to life by acclaimed comic book superstars including Humberto Ramos, Betsy Cola, Ron Lim, Peach Momoko, and more.

Marvel reveals its Pride Month Star Wars Pride Variant Covers

Marvel has revealed all seven covers that will adorn some of your favorite Star Wars Pride Variant Covers being released this June.

Dedicated to uplifting, honoring, and supporting LGBTQIA+ storytelling, Marvel’s Pride Month Celebration will once again extend to the galaxy far, far away by spotlighting LGBTQIA+ Star Wars character, many of which star in Marvel’s current line of Star Wars comic series. Across seven gorgeous variant covers, fans can see powerful and inspiring artwork of Doctor Aphra, Sana Starros, and more.  Drawn by an incredible lineup of acclaimed LGBTQIA+ talent, these covers bring the spirit of Pride Month to your local comic shop with eye-catching trade dress that features a bright rainbow burst and a special Star Wars progress logo.

Here are the characters featured in this year’s collection:

  • Cinta Kaz & Vel Sartha, the pair of brave rebel operatives, make their leap to comic books for the first time ever after their debut in last year’s original Disney+ series, Andor.
  • Doctor Aphra, the breakout Marvel Comics icon who is currently headlining her second solo series!
  • Domina Tagge, head of the powerful Tagge family with a vicious vendetta against Doctor Aphra that’s currently playing out in the pages of Star Wars: Doctor Aphra.
  •  Just Lucky, a highly-skilled assassin who at times finds himself aligned both with and against Doctor Aphra in Star Wars: Doctor Aphra.
  • Kantam Sy, a young Jedi during the High Republic era and a determined padawan of Jedi Master Yoda.
  • Magna Tolvan, a former high-ranking officer in the Galactic Empire who has since switched sides and found romance with Aphra.
  • Sana Starros, the no-nonsense smuggler has a past with both Han Solo and Doctor Aphra, and is currently starring in her very first solo series, Star Wars: Sana Starros.

Marvel Reveals its Pride Month Variant Covers by Luciano Vecchio and Betsy Cola

In addition to another installment of Marvel’s Voices: Pride, Marvel Comics will also celebrate Pride Month with a brand-new collection of variant covers. Extraordinary comic book artists Luciano Vecchio and Betsy Cola will team up to depict some of the most beloved and rising Marvel stars that belong to the LGBTQI+ community. A total of eight covers, this artwork showcasing these powerful heroes and warriors will be featured on select Marvel issues throughout June. 

Here’s who will be spotlighted in this vibrant and celebratory cover series:

  • Somnus – A mutant hero with the power to control dreams, Somnus debuted in a poignant story in last year’s MARVEL’S VOICES: PRIDE and now a member of Kate Pryde’s mutant rescue squad in MARAUDERS.
  • Aaron Fischer – Also known as the Captain America of the Railways, Aaron made a big splash during Captain America’s 80th Anniversary in THE UNITED STATES OF CAPTAIN AMERICA limited series. Look out for him in upcoming issues of the ALLIGATOR LOKI INFINITY COMIC.
  • Destiny – The recently resurrected classic X-Men foe now serves as one of the most prominent leaders of mutantkind. See what the future holds for her in the upcoming IMMORTAL X-MEN series.
  • Iceman – An original X-Man, Iceman is fresh off a stint on the Marauders that saw him use his omega-level abilities in some of his most impressive feats yet and the next big thing for this iconic hero is just on the horizon. Keep an eye out on upcoming X-Men issues to see what title he’ll be ice sliding into next! 
  • Karma – A founding member of the New Mutants, Karma uses her many years of experience defending Charles Xavier’s dream to guide the next generation of mutantkind in the current run of NEW MUTANTS.
  • America Chavez – The breakout star of the Young Avengers, America will use her superhuman strength and interdimensional star portals as part of a new team of THUNDERBOLTS.
  • Valkyrie – Rūna debuted as the mysterious and only surviving original Valkyrie during KING IN BLACK. Since then, fans have learned more about her in titles like MIGHTY VALKYRIES and WOMEN OF MARVEL. Stay tuned to find out where to witness her next legendary battles starting in June! 
  • Daken – The son of Wolverine, Daken will put his claws, healing factor, and fierce fighting skills to good use as a member of the current lineup of MARAUDERS.

Tony Stark and Patsy Walker’s Relationship Goes to the Next Level in Iron Man #20

Over the course of Chris Cantwell’s run on Iron Man, Tony Stark has travelled across the galaxy, battled against Korvac, and struggled with gaining new cosmic powers–but he hasn’t faced this epic journey alone. By his side has been his new love interest and partner, Patsy Walker aka Hellcat! In true Marvel fashion, the pair’s blossoming romance has developed amidst a backdrop of interdimensional conflicts and Celestial-level threats. Now in May’s Iron Man #20, Tony, back on his feet and seeking much-needed stability, will bend down on one knee and ask Patsy to marry him! Could the next Marvel wedding be on the horizon, or will more chaos keep these lovers apart?
