A Deadly Mystery Turns Personal in Capes #8

Skybound and Image Comics have shared a first look at Capes #8, from writer Benito Cereno, artist/colorist Mark Englert, and letterer Rus Wooton. Capes #8 takes readers – and the heroes of Capes, Inc. – further into the most unexpected corner of the Invincible Universe. Capes #8 will hit comic book shops on June 24, 2026.

Capes #7 has Sold Out and Getting a Second Printing

Skybound and Image Comics have revealed that Capes #7, from writer Benito Cereno, artist/colorist Mark Englert, and letterer Rus Wooton, has sold out at the distributor level and will return to comic book shops with a second printing on June 24, 2026

To meet the incredible fan demand, Capes #7 returns with a brand-new cover from artist Chris Burnham and colorist Brian Reber

Capes #7 kicks off all-new stories exploring the most unexpected corner of the Invincible Universe with Benito Cereno and Mark Englert introducing the biggest mission in Capes history! With Invincible off-planet fighting the Viltrumite War and the new Guardians of the Globe battling The Order, now’s the time for Capes, Inc to become the face of superpowered crime-fighting. But has Bolt already made the one mistake that could doom Capes? 

The issue also includes the first appearance of Ella Mental, a new Invincible Universe character from the Invincible VS game, in the first chapter of new backup stories by Invincible creators Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker, with colors by Annalisa Leoni.

Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker Reunite for New Invincible Universe Story in Capes #7

All new Invincible Universe stories start here! Skybound and Image Comics have announced that Capes #7 will feature the first comic book appearance of Ella Mental, an all-new Invincible Universe character. With the power to command earth, wind, fire, and water, Ella Mental will make her debut in the upcoming Invincible VS video game launching April 30 from Skybound and its in-house game development studio Quarter UpInvincible co-creators Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker reunite to tell Ella Mental’s story in a series of new back-ups appearing in Capes #7-12
