Sherlock: The Final Problem is Coming to Theaters

image003BBC Worldwide North America and Fathom Events present Sherlock: The Final Problem in movie theaters nationwide for two nights only starting on Monday, January 16, 2017 and on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 both at 7:00 p.m. local time.

Fans can celebrate the dramatic conclusion of the fourth season of the highly acclaimed BBC/MASTERPIECE  drama which stars Emmy Award-winners Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in their iconic roles as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson as part of a special cinematic presentation for one night only. Audiences will experience laughter, tears, shocks and surprises in this thrilling, not-to-miss season finale, as well as 15 minutes of exclusive extras

Tickets for Sherlock: The Final Problem can be purchased online or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in nearly 350 movie theaters. SDCC 2016: Captain Jack is Back and Returns at San Diego Comic-Con 2016!

BBC Worldwide and Titan Comics have announced the hotly anticipated new ongoing Torchwood comic series will debut at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, supported by special guests including Captain Jack himself, John Barrowman, and Carole E. Barrowman.

Torchwood #1 sees Captain Jack come back to Cardiff to engage the help of the last person who expected to see him again, Gwen Cooper! On the road, on the run, and under fire – can Jack and Gwen put aside their differences and rebuild the heart of Torchwood… before its flame is stamped out forever?!

Alongside the regular edition (in comic book stores August 3), there’ll be a special convention edition of Torchwood which includes the entirety of Torchwood #1 plus extra fan-favorite John Barrowman and Carole E. Barrowman-penned adventure “The Selkie”, with art and a brand-new cover from comic book legend Tommy Lee Edwards.

These regular and special editions are available to purchase at the Titan booth #5537 at San Diego Comic-Con 2016.

John Barrowman and Carole E. Barrowman will be guests on a special Titan panel where fans will be treated to announcements, behind-the-scenes reveals and upcoming plans for the Torchwood comic series. The panel takes place on Saturday July 23 at 3:30PM in room 5AB.

Fans will also have the opportunity to meet John Barrowman and Carole E. Barrowman at the show as they will be signing copies of Torchwood #1 on Sunday July 24 between 11:00am and 12:00pm at Autograph Area, Table AA21.

Titan Comics Announces its Next Doctor Who Four Doctors Event

BBC Worldwide North America and Titan Comics have revealed that this summer’s special Doctor Who event comic will feature the Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctors from Titan’s four ongoing Doctor Who series. This comic will be a spectacular five-part, bi-weekly adventure featuring one of the Doctor’s most iconic foes – the Cybermen!

Penned by best-selling authors George Mann & Cavan Scott with art by Alessandro Vitti, this highly anticipated event comic kicks-off in stores and on digital platforms Wednesday, July 6th 2016, supported by Titan’s third annual Doctor Who Comics Day event on Saturday, July 9th 2016.

2016 marks the 50th anniversary of the show’s iconic cyborgs, the Cybermen. The Cybermen first appeared in the serial ‘The Tenth Planet’ in 1966, and have been featured in Doctor Who numerous times since, including the 2006 two-part modern origin story, ‘Rise of the Cybermen’ and ‘The Age of Steel.’

This special crossover event comic entitled ‘Supremacy of the Cybermen’ stars the Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston), Tenth Doctor (David Tennant), Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith), and Twelfth Doctor (Peter Capaldi), and their comic companions – Gabby, Cindy, Alice, Rose (Billie Piper) and Captain Jack (John Barrowman)!

Exiled from Gallifrey at the very end of time, Rassilon, fallen leader of the Time Lords, has been captured by the last of the Cybermen. Now, the Cybermen have access to time travel. With it, every defeat becomes a victory. Every foe is now dead — or Cyberized.

The debut issue comes with five variant covers to collect: an art cover by series artist Alessandro Vitti, a photo cover by Will Brooks, a cool Cybermen variant by Fabio Listrani, a blank sketch variant, and a fun coloring variant – perfect to color in at home or in stores on Doctor Who Comics Day.

Titan Comics and the BBC Announce an Ongoing Ninth Doctor Comic Series

NINTH DOCTOR #2_Cover_ATitan Comics and BBC Worldwide have announced an ongoing Ninth Doctor comic series.

Titan Comics’ hugely popular and critically acclaimed Doctor Who comics line launched the Ninth Doctor in a 5-part mini-series in 2015 (the second issue’s cover is to the left). Due to the overwhelming popularity of the Ninth Doctor, as played by Christopher Eccleston, the series will now join the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors as a monthly ongoing title.

The Ninth Doctor comic writer, Cavan Scott will continue to work on the series and promises more adventures featuring the Doctor, Rose, and Captain Jack.

The first in the brand new Ninth Doctor ongoing story arc will hit shelves in April 2016, with interior art on the opening three-parter by Adriana Melo.

Titan Comics Announces the Fourth Doctor Miniseries

Titan Comics and BBC Worldwide has announced a brand-new mini series starring the Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith, as played by Tom Baker and the late Elisabeth Sladen.

This series expands Titan Comics’ hugely popular and critically acclaimed Doctor Who comics line, which already includes adventures from the Eighth, Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors.

Entitled ‘Gaze Of The Medusa’, the five-part series will hit stores in March 2016 and will be penned by Gordon Rennie and Emma Beeby with art by Brian Williamson.

The all-new adventure is set in Victorian England, where a mysterious woman commands a hidden army in a house of the blind. Scryclops stalk the streets…and something alien and terrible screams from prehistory – with a hunger that cannot be satisfied!

Issue #1 will come with six covers to collect: a painted cover by fan-favorite artist Alice X. Zhang; a photo variant; art covers by artists Brian Williamson, Jay Gunn and Matt Baxter; and a blank sketch variant.

Doctor Who: The Fourth Doctor #1 debuts in comic stores and on digital devices from March 2016.

Doctor Who Seasons Two through Four Come to Disney XD

New-Doctor-Who-Logo-doctor-who-8521729-550-465Well this was unexpected. It has been announced that the BBC‘s Doctor Who will be coming to Disney XD beginning Saturday, May 9 at 9pm ET. Seasons two through four will be shown on the channel beginning with season two, episode one New Earth.
In New Earth, the Doctor and Rose board the TARDIS for new adventures in time and space. But when they visit mankind’s new home, far in the future, they find gruesome secrets hidden inside a luxury hospital. And an enemy thought long since dead, the paper-thin Cassandra, is out for revenge.

Season two will continue to rollout on Disney XD beginning Saturday, June 13. The special week-long programming event will give fans eight episodes, airing daily Saturday, June 13 through Saturday, June 20. Beginning June 14, episodes will also be available on the WATCH Disney XD app, which allows folks to watch on tablets, phones, computers and connected TVs.

Doctor Who Regenerates with Titan Comics

Titan Comics Logo (1)In the universe of Doctor Who regenerations bring not only a new Doctor but often a fresh look and feel to the series and BBC Worldwide is bringing that same approach to Doctor Who comics as it has signed a new deal with Titan Comics. The deal will open up the world of Doctor Who and provide fans with new stand alone adventures featuring the Tenth Doctor, Eleventh Doctor and after the new series launch, the Twelfth Doctor. Creative and production teams will be announced in the coming weeks and the first comic books will be released in 2014. Speculation has run rampant as to who would land the license to bring the Doctor to comics ever since IDW announced that their deal had come to a close. Titan Comics was a lead contender on everyone’s list.

SDCC 2012 – Sonic Screwdriver Universal Remote Control

ThinkGeek, working in partnership with The Wand Company and BBC Worldwide, has obtained alien technology from beyond time and space and are ready to unveil it, the Sonic Screwdriver Universal Remote Control, in booth #3629 at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

A high quality metal replica of the Mark VII Sonic Screwdriver currently used by the Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith, the Sonic Screwdriver Universal Remote Control is a gesture-based remote.  Utilizing infrared (IR) technology it is able to manipulate almost all home entertainment systems – from TVs to iPod docks and beyond.  Through the piece’s advanced gesture recognition technology, usersl can put the power of 39 commands in the palm of their hand.

Control is straightforward.  The Sonic Screwdriver Universal Remote Control works via a series of 13 short gestures, such as rotating, flicking, and tapping.  A guided set-up procedure uses spoken prompts to match gestures to commands learned from remotes originating here on Earth.

Those interested in viewing this unique collectable will be able to view and experience it at BBC America Booth #3629 during the duration of Comic-Con.  ThinkGeek.com will begin collecting interest at the same time with sales launching on August 31, 2012.

SDCC 2012 – Her Universe Launches Doctor Who Apparel, Debuting July 11

Her Universe has teamed-up with BBC Worldwide launching a Doctor Who Fangirl Fashion Collection.  Launching July 11, the Doctor Who apparel and accessories from the Her Universe collection will be available in the U.S. and Canada at both www.heruniverseshop.com and BBCAmericashop.com and through national retail outlets such as Hot Topic. Throughout 2012, the Doctor Who merchandise will also be available at select conventions including San Diego Comic Con.

BBC Worldwide has also created a special Doctor Who logo just for female fans which will only appear on Her Universe merchandise.  You can see the logo to the left and some of the shirts below.
