Holiday Gift Guide: Add Batman Returns’ Batmissile to your collection

Bat-fans rejoice! Hot Toys’ latest Batman collectible brings an iconic vehicle from the silver screen to your collection.

The Batmissile was an escape vehicle integrated into the Batmobile. In the 1992 blockbuster movie, Batman Returns, our hero Batman finds himself in a dire situation as the nefarious Penguin and his Red Triangle Gang hijack the Batmobile, causing chaos on the streets of Gotham. Batman is forced to use the Batmissile – an integrated escape vehicle housed inside the Batmobile – to evade capture by the GCPD.

Drawing inspiration from the Batmissile’s appearance in this thrilling chase sequence, Hot Toys has created a painstakingly engineered 1/6 scale collectible that can be paired with their Batman figure to enable DC fans to recreate scenes from this classic movie.

The Batmissile 1/6 Collectible replicates this unique vehicle’s appearance from the movie with extreme precision and expertly applied paint application. Featuring intricate mechanical details throughout both the interior and exterior, the Batmissile measures approximately 42” (109 cm) in length, and includes extendable wheels, an LED light-up dashboard panel and a slide-open canopy, as well as an orange LED light at the back of the vehicle that simulates a flame effect.

Hot Toys Batman (Batman Returns) 1/6 Scale Figure gets a deluxe version

Tim Burton’s delightfully atmospheric film Batman Returns (1992) enchanted fans and brought Michael Keaton back to the silver screen as Gotham City’s protector.

The Batman (Batman Returns) 1/6 Scale Figure by Hot Toys expertly captures Michael Keaton’s appearance in the iconic role. The figure features a hand-painted cowled head which utilizes Hot Toys’ amazing rolling eyeball design, allowing collectors to adjust the figure’s gaze. Three interchangeable lower faces are also included for a range of expressions.

This highly articulated figure boasts a newly developed body dressed in a tailored Batsuit, plus a detailed, black fabric wingsuit so that fans can recreate his distinctive pose. Batman is equipped with his signature gadgets, including a pair of zip lines, a grapple gun, a Batarang, napalm capsules, a rocket launch controller, and a Batmobile remote.

The Deluxe Version comes with an additional hand-painted Bruce Wayne headsculpt, which also features Hot Toys’ innovative rolling eyeball design. And that’s not all! A damaged Batcowl and an elaborate rooftop-themed diorama figure base with two interchangeable accessories are also included.

The Batman (Batman Returns) 1/6 Scale Figure and Deluxe Version are available to pre-order.

Batmobile Cutaways: The Movie Vehicles 1989-2012

Ever since his modern cinematic debut in 1989’s Batman, the Caped Crusader’s one constant companion has been – no, not Robin the Boy Wonder – his iconic Batmobile! Part assault vehicle, part pursuit and rescue transport, part mobile crime lab and part the screen’s coolest  looking car, the Batmobile has always been the most technologically advanced crime-fighting asset in Batman’s arsenal.

Like the Dark Knight himself, everybody has a favorite Batmobile and now all of the cars, from Tim Burton’s 1989 classic to the conclusion of Christopher Nolan’s trilogy in 2012, have been brought together in one comprehensive, fully illustrated, 72-page volume from Eaglemoss Hero Collector, designers, manufacturers and publishers of high-quality collectibles from across the many worlds of pop culture.

Written by Alan Cowsill, James Hill, and Richard Jackson – with original illustrations contributed by Ed Giddings and Mojo – Batmobile Cutaways: The Movie Vehicles 1989-2012 is a one-of-a-kind visual reference guide featuring original cutaway artwork approved by Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment, as well as lavish illustrations and photos highlighting every vehicle from Batman (1989), Batman Returns (1992), Batman Forever (1995), Batman & Robin (1997), Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012).

What’s more, the book comes packaged with a 1/43 scale die-cast metal replica of the iconic Anton Furst designed Batmobile featured in 1989’s Batman. Now you can discover what lies inside this and many other machines with extraordinary cutaway art. Take a deep look under the hoods and behind the controls as weapons systems and construction secrets are revealed.
