DC Collectibles in April 2019 Includes New DC Bombshells, Artists Alley, Harley Quinn and More!

Next spring DC Collectibles will unleash new DC Bombshells, anthropomorphic creatures and new statues starring Harley Quinn, Sean Murphy’s White Knight Batman, the Flash and more—all set to invade stores in April 2019.

Leading the charge just in time for spring training is a new Batwoman statue featuring artist Ant Lucia’s popular DC Bombshells design in a striking red “away uniform” variant paint color. The statue measures the same 9-inch scale as the original version and is intricately sculpted by Tim Miller.

Also in April 2019, DC Collectibles will release new cutting-edge DC Artists Alley designer vinyl figures by fan-favorite toy designer Joe Ledbetter. Ledbetter is known for his distinct, bold lines and vibrant palette and has worked with such top brands as IKEA, Swatch, Nike, Sony Music and Kidrobot. Now Ledbetter will bring his unique style to the DC universe, putting his signature anthropomorphicspin on iconic characters Batman, the Penguin, Catwoman and Robin.

Ledbetter’s 7-inch scale DC Artists Alley figures are sculpted by Joe Menna and will be offered in both a standard edition paint color and a black-and-white variant style. Each figure will also include four DC character sketch cards drawn by Ledbetter.

Cryptozoic Entertainment and DC Entertainment have announced the release of the DC Comics Bombshells Pennant Collection this coming Wednesday.

The DC Comics Bombshells feature some of the most iconic DC Comics female characters reimagined in a 1940s-era pinup style. The line was launched in 2013 with Wonder Woman, and it’s become popular with collectors and cosplayers alike. The successful DC Comics Bombshells statues line was followed by the comic book series and now, a line of merchandise from Cryptozoic Entertainment.These premium, 12×30” soft felt pennants feature Ant Lucia’s 1940’s pin-up style artwork. Designs include popular DC Bombshells heroines and villains including Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, Poison Ivy, and Supergirl. DC Expands its Bombshells Line with Statues, Busts and Annual

Its been three years since it was introduced and been a relative success for DC Entertainment, but the company has announced plans to expand upon their popular DC Comics Bombshells line. The concept has appeared in comics, statues, toys, and games, and features the likes of Wonder Woman, Poison Ivy, Batwoman, Stargirl, and Harley Quinn in an alternate World War II setting. The expansion includes new statues, an annual and a coffee-table book.

The line debuted in 2013 and was inspired by the retro artwork of Ant Lucia which mixed the pin-up style of the war period with rockabilly influences.

In January 2017 Katana enters the mythos with a new statue designed by Lucia and sculpted by Jack Matthews. In October 2016 a line of busts designed by Emanuela Lupacchino and sculpted by Matthews will debut. October also sees the release of The Art of DC Comics Bombshells, a hardcover collection of design work by Lucia, Lupacchino and other artists including Des Taylor and Terry & Rachel Dodson. August 2016 sees the release of the comic series first annual. DC Comics Bombshells Take Command of August including new Digital First Series and Variants

DC Entertainment’s fan-favorite Bombshells designs take center stage in August with an all-new comic book series, the return of the popular variant cover theme, new statues from DC Collectibles, as well as new product offerings from Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Universe Online. The DC Comics Bombshells designs pay tribute to World War II vintage and historical depictions of classic characters. The Bombshells have become a sensation, and now fans can enjoy these wartime characters in new ways.

DC Comics Bombshells will join the Digital First comic line-up with a new ongoing series. Digital chapters will be available starting in July with the first print collection available August 12. Written by Marguerite Bennett and art by Marguerite SauvageDC Comics Bombshells #1 introduces retro-bombshell versions of Batwoman, Wonder Woman and Supergirl in an alternate reality where super-powered female heroes are on the front lines in WWII! The full line of Bombshells characters will be introduced as the story unfolds in the months ahead.

Also in August, the newest wave of Bombshells will be celebrated as the variant cover theme for DC Comics’ periodicals. Following the incredible success of the June 2014 Bombshells theme month, the new selection of variant covers expands to feature a cast of iconic DC characters including Aquaman, Batman, Cheetah, Dick Grayson, Green Lantern, Huntress, Killer Frost, Power Girl, Ravager, Raven, Superman, and Sinestro!

Continuing the success of the bestselling statue line that started the Bombshell phenomenon, DC Collectibles is adding DC Comics’ Cheetah and Killer Frost characters to the Bombshells line. Designed by Ant Lucia and sculpted by Sam Greenwell and Tim Miller respectively, these new statues will hit stores in Spring 2016.

DC Bombshells has truly become a fan phenomenon with a variety of items available from Warner Bros. Consumer Products licensees including apparel and accessories from Bioworld, collectible buttons from Diamond Comics, stylized posters from Quantum Mechanix, stickers from At-a-Boy, and PVC figures from Cryptozoic.
