Review: Infinity Wars: Infinity

Infinity Wars: Infinity

What comes AFTER infinity?

So what’s next for the Infinity Stones? With Infinity Wars over, the stones are now sentient in a way and are choosing their path. Writer Gerry Duggan gives us the first follow up to his newest take on Marvel’s cosmic baubles and it’s very much a stinger like you’d find at the end of a film.

Infinity Wars: Infinity is a fine comic though doesn’t really answer much except where one stone winds up. Beyond that, it focuses those who still are players on the board and on a mission to get a hold of the stones.

The comic is both an epilogue for the previous story and a prologue for what comes next as has been a standard Marvel thing for some time after events.

The art by Mark Bagley, with ink by Andrew Hennesy, color by Guru-eFX, and lettering by Cory Petit is hit and miss. There’s some panels and pages that look fantastic. It’s full of energy and great choices in framing and perspective. Then, there’s panels that the art just feels very average as well.

The issue is really for those invested in the story and Marvel’s cosmic side of things. There’s nothing that’s a must here and I’m sure what’s presented will be summed up in some way in what comes next. Infinity Wars: Infinity feels like a way to close out the last chapter while working to get folks excited for what comes next.
