Arthur Adams, Jeremy Bastian, Chris Campana, Abby Denson, Bob Hall, and David Petersen are coming to Baltimore Comic Con
The Baltimore Convention Center will be spilling over with comics and pop culture goodness from September 8-10, 2023 as the Inner Harbor welcomes the return of the Baltimore Comic-Con. The Baltimore Comic-Con has announced comics guests of Arthur Adams, Jeremy Bastian, Chris Campana, Abby Denson, Bob Hall, and David Petersen as guests in 2023. Arthur Adams is an award-winning artist who became an immediate fan favorite as the penciler on the critically acclaimed 1985 Longshot mini-series. His decades-spanning career has included cover and interior work on such titles as Batman, Superman, Avengers, Spider-Man, X-Men, New Mutants, Gen 13, Godzilla, The Authority, Danger Girl, Excalibur, Ultimate X, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Hulk. He’s the creator, writer and artist on Monkeyman and O’Brien. Outside of comics, Arthur has done movie, toy, and game designs, book illustrations, and provided the artwork for an X-Men-themed Spaghetti-O’s can. More recently, in addition to the covers to many of Marvel’s top books, he supplied a run of covers for Guardians of the Galaxy, and a run on covers for X-Men Blue. He’s also currently working on a creator-owned property.
Jeremy Bastian is the creator and illustrator of Cursed Pirate Girl from BOOM! Studios and Archaia Comics. He is renowned for his delicate detail, whimsical characters, and strange creatures, all drawn at the actual print size with a very small brush! Cursed Pirate Girl beckons to the 19th century in both subject and style. He has also contributed to Guild: Tink from Dark Horse Comics, Mouse Guard: Legends of the Guard from BOOM! Studios/Archaia Comics, Little Nemo: Dream Another Dream from Locust Moon Press, and Under the Moons of Mars: New Adventures on Barsoom from Simon and Schuster. His Cursed Pirate Girl Annual was released by BOOM! Studios.
Fan favorite, Chris Campana has been working in comics and the art industry for over 20 years. A multi-Ringo Award nominee (Best Original Graphic Novel, Best Artist or Penciller) for his work on the indie comic hit The Adventures of Parker Reef, Chris has also worked on GI Joe, TMNT, Spawn, Death Dealer, Rogue Sun, Red Sonja, Lady Death, Vampirella, Pathfinder, Tellos, and a multitude of indie titles.
Abby Denson is the author of Uniquely Japan, the Kitty Sweet Tooth book series (illustrated by Utomaru), Cool Tokyo Guide, Cool Japan Guide, Dolltopia, and Tough Love. She has scripted comics for Amazing Spider-Man Family, Powerpuff Girls Comics, Simpsons Comics, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Josie and the Pussycats, Disney Adventures, and many others. Her work has garnered the International Manga Award, Moonbeam Children’s Book Award, and the IPPY Award.
Bob Hall had a long association with Marvel Comics, where at one time or another he drew most of the major books and characters such as The Champions, Spider-Man, Dr. Doom, Conan, Thor, The Fantastic Four, The Submariner, Captain America, PSI Force, The Avengers, and The New Mutants. He was the artist for the West Coast Avengers mini-series and was the primary artist on the original Squadron Supreme. He drew movie adaptations of Willow, Dark Man, and the notorious first Captain America movie, as well as pencils and inks for the graphic novel, Emperor Doom. Bob was an editor at Marvel in 1979. For Valiant, he wrote and penciled the monthly series Shadowman, wrote Timewalker, and then created Armed and Dangerous, a black and white “comicbook-noir” series. For DC, he wrote and drew the Batman graphic novel projects Batman DOA, I Joker, and It’s Jokertime. Recently, he has been creating educational comics that have tackled measles, mosquitoes, COVID-19, and vaccine hesitancy. David Petersen is a cartoonist and children’s book illustrator who launched his career with a self-published issue of his series Mouse Guard in 2005, when it was then picked up by Archaia, who continues to publish the Eisner and Harvey Award-winning series. Petersen has also worked on covers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Dark Crystal. He’s illustrated an edition of Kenneth Grahame’s Wind in the Willows for IDW and his artwork also graced the cover for the 2012 Baltimore Comic-Con program, as well as the show-exclusive t-shirt.
In 2008, David won the Eisners for Best Publication for Kids (Mouse Guard Fall 1152 & Winter 1152) and Best Graphic Album – Reprint (Mouse Guard Fall 1152 Hardcover). In 2010, he was nominated for a Harvey Award for Best Artist (Mouse Guard: Winter 1152).
