Of Swamp & Sea Vol. 1 is a solid debut and fans of monster hunter stories should check it out

Mercy Gray Harding’s troubles all started in the swampland on the outskirts of town, where a mist wolf murdered her father. She enlists a monster hunter named Jonah to put the creature down, but the plan quickly falls apart. When the incorporeal beast tries to attack Mercy, it instead possesses her, and is bound to her body and mind. Now Mercy’s human and wolfish sides grapple for control, and she is haunted by the memories of both.

Jonah promises to free her from the monster, and the two set off for a cure. But the open road is full of untold danger, and her new powers come in handy. And is it Mercy or the wolf who is flirting with the handsome Jonah?

Lucas Wars is the warts and all story of the creation of Star Wars. One the best of the year!

In a tale befitting the saga he created, Lucas Wars follows George Lucas’s journey from aimless dreamer to filmmaking trailblazer and prodigy of the New Hollywood movement. While his fellow rising stars—directors like Francis Ford Coppola, Steven Spielberg, and Martin Scorsese—craft The Godfather, Jaws, and Taxi Driver, Lucas follows his childhood dreams and begins work on an epic fantasy . . . which, he soon discovers, is not without its epic challenges.

Breadcrumbs is an interesting coming of age graphic memoir set in Post-Soviet Poland

In the late 1980s, Poland faces debilitating food shortages, worker discontent, and astronomical inflation. Seemingly overnight, the country transitions from communism to capitalism. During this period of flux, Kasia Babis is born.

In the shadow of national change, Kasia experiences her own journey of growth, from rebellious teen to politically minded activist. She grapples with her country’s deep-rooted Catholicism and forges her own beliefs, leading to her becoming an active part of Poland’s left-wing Razem party. Each new experience is a reminder that broader societal upheavals reverberate on a deeply personal level.

The Harrowing Game is a solid horror anthology with a twist

The rules of the game are simple: Three ghosts gather to tell their stories in turn. Scariest story wins. Only the winner may move on.

For thousands of years, the souls of the dead have gathered to play the game. Tonight, the storytellers locked in this existential battle are a recently deceased girl with no memories, an old woman trapped in a mirror, and a smirking boy in a bathtub. Their terrifying tales span time and space, from the temples of ancient Egypt to the taxidermy labs of modern New England. Yet the same primordial evil lurks in the margins of each story. This presence tempts the innocent as well as the corrupted, and its hunger is boundless.

Saint Catherine is a fantastic debut graphic novel by Anna Meyer and 23rd St.

In her 20-something years of existence, Catherine never skipped mass once. As a recovering Irish American Catholic, she has mostly traded the world of communion and confessionals for the “city-girl” struggle of work-life balance, family, and her relationships. The only thing she has not been able to shake is her fear that something bad will happen if she misses Sunday mass.

But her fears become a reality when she skips mass for the first time and discovers she is now being possessed by a demon claiming to be the prince of hell. As she takes matters into her own hands and attempts to exorcise these demons (both the paranormal and emotional kind), Catherine must face her buried guilt and what it truly means to be good.
