Wednesdays are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in

Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!

Absolute Superman #16 (DC Comics) – The series has been great and after its first major story has wrapped up we’re excited to see more of where this series goes next.

Archie x Army Of Darkness #1 (Dynamite Entertainment) – Some times you just need to sit back and enjoy the crazy comic ideas.

D’Orc #1 (Image Comics) – A half dwarf, half orc stumbles into a greater battle that’s going on in this fantary series that has us intrigued just from the cover alone.

DC K.O. Boss Battle #1 (DC Comics) – As part of the current event, DC’s heroes take on characters such as Sabrina, Homelander, and more!

DC x AEW #1 (DC Comics) – The stars of AEW team up with DC’s heroes and this has been a huge hit with every story we post about it, so there could be some heat for it.

Knight City #1 (Dark Horse) – A legendary hero is caught between two worlds. By day, he soars as a symbol of hope, but the moment he falls asleep, he enters a universe devoid of heroes and he leads a mundane life. As the pressure of his dual universes mount, his heroic self begins to crack, pushing him toward a mental breakdown.

March Omnibus Edition The Complete Trilogy In One (Top Shelf Productions) – If you never read this award-winning graphic novel series about the civil rights movement and Cong. John Lewis, here’s your chance to get the entire story in one volume.

Ripcord #1 (Ignition Press) – A dangerous drug sends a person on a deadly and dangerous mission to bring her sister back.

Thundarr The Barbarian #1 (Dynamite Entertainment) – We’re fans of the classic animated series so excited to see what this new comic series brings.

Twilight Zone #4 (IDW Publishing) – Nate Powell writing and doing the art for the Twilight Zone is a must get.

Ultimate Endgame #2 (Marvel) – We were a little underwhelmed by the debut issue but we’re all in to see how Marvel brings this world to an end and if it really is the end.

Cara O’Neil Joins Mad Cave Studios as Director of Marketing

Mad Cave Studios has announced that Cara O’Neil has joined the company as the publisher’s new Director of Marketing. A senior publishing and marketing executive, O’Neil’s career has been shaped by steady growth, cross-departmental leadership, and a holistic understanding of the comics and publishing ecosystem.

She joined Dark Horse Comics in 2018 and was promoted through multiple positions within the marketing department, later serving as Vice President of Marketing. In that role, she led marketing and publicity in close collaboration with sales, editorial, licensing, and digital teams. Her work helped bring major titles, including Hellboy, Black Hammer, The Umbrella Academy, Sin City, and Berserk, to audiences across comics, games, and screen, balancing longtime fan trust with thoughtful, audience-driven campaigns that expanded reach across platforms. She also regularly represented the company at key industry events.

A graduate of Portland State University’s Master’s in Publishing program, O’Neil brings together retail insight, formal publishing training, and executive-level experience. She is widely respected within the comics and publishing community for her collaborative approach and long-term perspective. 

Oni Press shifts to Penguin Random House Publisher Services for Distribution

Oni Press has announced a multi-year worldwide sales and distribution agreement with Penguin Random House Publisher Services (PRHPS). The publisher was previously distributed by Lunar Distribution. The deal begins August 1, 2026.

PRHPS will sell and distribute Oni Press’ frontlist and backlist trade books, as well as single issue comics, for Oni Press and the company’s Magnetic Press imprint exclusively across all sales channels worldwide.

The deal comes ahead of numerous anticipated releases from Oni including Matt Kindt and Brian Hurtt’s Fort Psycho from his Flux House imprint as well as the launch of Oni’s partnership with Archie Comics and Archie #1 which arrives in September. That issue is by writer W. Maxwell Prince and art by Fábio Moon.

This brand-new story arc is written by critically praised Conan the Barbarian writer, Jim Zub, with art by the talented Doug Braithwaite.

Skybound and Image announce LEGO Ninjago: Dark Island Trilogy

Skybound, Image Comics, and AMEET have announced the graphic novel release of LEGO Ninjago: Dark Island Trilogy. Perfectly timed in celebration of LEGO Ninjago’S 15th anniversary, the first-ever collection of the iconic series by writer Greg Farshtey and artist Paul Lee will be available everywhere books are sold June 2026, featuring a new cover by Tri Vuong. 

Long out of print, LEGO Ninjago: Dark Island Trilogy is a key piece of Ninjago lore—essential for longtime fans and increasingly relevant to LEGO’s ongoing storytelling, while still remaining new reader friendly. 

A new darkness threatens Ninjago as Master Wu senses a growing imbalance between good and evil. Will Master Wu and the ninjas’ Spinjitzu be enough against threats new and old alike? Or will the coming darkness sweep across Dark Island like a massive storm and take everyone with it?

Doom Homage Variant Covers Glorify Marvel’s Greatest Supervillain!

No supervillain has impacted the Marvel mythos more than Doctor DOom! Now, in the wake of his global takeover in One World Under Doom, top Marvel artists will pay tribute to his epic publication history this March in new Doom Homage Variant Covers.

Across twenty one covers, see new takes on classic Doom covers from the original Secret Wars to unforgettable showdowns with the Fantastic Four, the Avengers and the X-Men to more recent standouts. Each cover captures Victor von Doom’s incredible aura by putting bold and modern twists on the original artwork and reimagining various heroes inside his iconic armor. The Folio Society To Publish The First Ever Illustrated Edition of Bret Easton Ellis’ Timely Cult Classic American Psycho

American Psycho is one of the most vilified and celebrated novels of the late 20th century. A controversial book, it’s both disturbing and thought-provoking. The book is a funny and unsettling black comedy about a young man striving for the American Dream forces readers to confront uncomfortable truths about identity, materialism, and our modern capitalist society. The Folio Society will publish the first ever illustrated edition of American Psycho, featuring artwork by David Hughes, as well as the original introduction by Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh and the original afterword by Bret Easton Ellis.

Limited to just 750 copies, the 512-page special edition of the cult classic features a box design, cover design, endpapers, frontispiece and 10 illustrations—five of which are double-page spreads—all by Hughes. Fully bound in leather and printed letterpress on XX paper, the box will also have a pinstripe lining containing Patrick Bateman’s business card, styled exactly as it is in the film (spelling mistakes and all). 

The Folio Society edition of American Psycho will be available for £450 / US $640 exclusively from The Folio Society website.
