ComicsPRO 2026: 2000 AD Arrives Weekly in the USA Via Lunar Distribution

2000 AD is coming back to America — and this time, it’s weekly!

Never before have American readers been able to enjoy a weekly hit of 2000 AD Thrill-power, but now thanks to a partnership between publishers Rebellion and Lunar Distribution, 2000 AD will arrive in US comic book stores every week — and just two weeks after the UK on-sale date!

The team behind the landmark weekly sci-fi anthology announced this week at ComicsPro that The Galaxy’s Greatest Comic will return to American shelves this May on a weekly schedule via Lunar. Copies will be printed and distributed within the USA for the first time in 2000 AD’s forty-nine-year history, meaning that retailers can now order individual issues of 2000 AD for their store.

The move means that rather than waiting months for copies, readers will be able to pick up issues of 2000 AD each and every week from their local comic store for the first time – making it a great addition to their weekly pull-lists. Issues will no longer be poly-bagged — so new readers can pick up copies from the shelf and discover a range of Thrills to reshape their reality!

This news means that now 2000 ADthe Judge Dredd Megazine, and seasonal Special issues including Action and The 2000 AD Sci-Fi Special will all now be available to order directly through Lunar.

Publishing since 1977, 2000 AD is the weekly 32-page anthology featuring five serialised stories in each issue. Featuring Judge Dredd – The Ultimate Lawman of the Future – 2000 AD has also been home to iconic and influential series including Strontium Dog, Halo Jones, Nemesis the Warlock, ABC Warriors and many more.

The crucible which introduced to the comics industry creators including Alan Moore, John Wagner, Pat Mills, Brian Bolland, Grant Morrison, Dave Gibbons, Al Ewing and many more, 2000 AD is the home to genre-defying and anarchic comics which challenge authority and give readers a taste of the unknown and bizarre. Currently 2000 AD is home to stunning visions of science fiction such as the cosmic horror of Brink; the violent and vampiric Silver; the fantastical steampunk universe of Brass Sun; and the dark and depraved dystopia of The Fall of Deadworld, as well as many other stories.

This year will also see Judge Dredd caught up in a massive crossover “Mega-Epic” storyline which crosses over between the weekly 2000 AD and the monthly Judge Dredd Megazine – which will also now be available in the US on a regular schedule through Lunar. As Judge Dredd enters “The Oubliette” and witnesses “The Black Tower”, readers will be able to pick up both titles straight from their local comic store to ensure they get the full story as a hyper-blast of electrified Thrill-Power!

Retailers looking to order the weekly 2000 AD will be able to find it in March’s edition of “Next Phase” available via Lunar, and on the Lunar website.

The future is calling, America – it’s time to answer!

Judge Dredd Megazine Is Now Available Through Lunar!

Judge Dredd Megazine

The future has arrived at Lunar Distribution! Starting with February’s edition of the Lunar Catalogue, the award-winning Judge Dredd Megazine will be available each and every month for order through Lunar, bringing Thrill-Power worldwide!

Judge Dredd Megazine has been running since 1990, and in its current form is a monthly 100-page magazine which features new comics alongside features, interviews, and more. The Megazine focuses on Judge Dredd and the future dystopia of Mega-City One which he patrols – and is also the home to iconic and beloved characters like Judge Anderson, Devlin Waugh, and Metta Lawson.

Some of the most famous stories in 2000 AD history first found their home in the Megazine, including the iconic and thrilling Judge Dredd: America as well as the horror of Young Death; alongside modern classic runs like the heavy-hitting Dreadnoughts and the wild-west action of Lawless.

Each issue of Judge Dredd Megazine features some of the most acclaimed and individual creators currently working in comics, including names like John Wagner, Garth Ennis, Chris Weston, Colin MacNeil, Dan Abnett, Rob Williams, John Higgins, Alex de Campi, Phil Winslade and more.

Alongside the all-new comics published in each monthly edition, the Megazine also features a variety of features and interviews set across the world of comics, celebrating and championing new initiatives and raising attention to comics being created across the UK. From interviews with film director Ben Wheatley and Dredd’s co-creator John Wagner through to features on the recent Dan Dare revival and return of A1/Deadline, the Megazine offers news and updates on the ever-changing and inventive world of British comics – making it an essential read for anyone interested in what’s going on in the industry!

The first available issue of The Big Meg will be Judge Dredd Megazine 491, which features a pulse-pounding collection of stories! Every Megazine kicks off with a ten-page Judge Dredd story, and Megazine 491 also features the acclaimed alt-universe serial Megatropolis; the return of the dimension-hopping Department K; the hard-edged 1970s New York Coppers Fargo & McBane; the sci-fi soccer shenanigans of John Wagner and Dan Cornwell’s Rok The World; the radioactive terror of Atomfall; and much more!

The arrival of Judge Dredd Megazine as a monthly comic via Lunar continues the growing partnership between Rebellion and Lunar, which began in 2025.

Alongside Judge Dredd Megazine, Lunar also offer Rebellion Special releases including the upcoming Action 50th Anniversary Special, which celebrates the anniversary of the controversial UK comic with a new 48-page issue spearheaded by Garth Ellis; and new and backlist collections including the Judge Dredd: Rend & Tear Graphic Novel, as well as The Complete Alan Moore, a new series of hardback collections which begins in 2026.

Retailers looking to order Judge Dredd Megazine should look to February’s edition of “Next Phase”, available via Lunar and on the Lunar website – featuring the Lawman of the Future as this month’s cover star!

Dynamite announces Distribution Through Lunar

Dynamite Entertainment

Dynamite Entertainment is one of the last, if not the last, major publisher that is exclusive to Diamond Comic Distributors. Well, that’s not the case anymore as the publisher has announced that they’ve come to an agreement with Lunar Distribution beginning this Monday’s June 23rd final order cutoff with releases on July 9 and July 16.

Dynamic Forces has been in a fight with the (old) Diamond for money owed to Dynamite Entertainment. A sum of over $500,000 is currently in a legal battle during Diamond’s Chapter 11 case. There’s also reports that (new) Diamond, and their new owners Sparkle Pop/Ad Populum, haven’t been great with publishers or stores, charging stores regularly for shipments but not paying publishers, though providing statements for what’s owed.

The move to Lunar is another blow to (new) Diamond and Sparkle Pop/Ad Populum which has seen publishers flocking to other distribution options.

Titles previously on FOC through Diamond Comics Distributors will be offered for release to retailers through Lunar Distribution this week.

Final orders will be accepted through Lunar for these titles set to release on July 9 and 16.

The following titles will be scheduled for these dates with orders through Lunar:

July 9 In Stores
Gargoyles: Demona #1
Space Ghost Jonny Quest Space Quest #2
Red Sonja vs the Army of Darkness #3
Vampirella #3
Zootopia #4

July 16 In Stores
Red Sonja Noir
Space Ghost Annual
The Herculoids #5
ThunderCats #16

Massive Indies Expands with New Publishers and Studios

Massive Publishing

Massive Publishing has announced the expansion of its Massive Indies program, now welcoming a new wave of independent publishers and studios into its growing network. This expansion marks a major milestone for the program, which continues to redefine how indie comics reach comic book shops nationwide. While no specific publishers were announced, they will be revealed over the next few weeks with the initial wave being announced in Massive’s July solicitations for on sale in September.

Designed to empower small and midsize publishers, Massive Indies provides direct market access through Massive’s partnership with Lunar Distribution, as well as marketing support—while allowing creators and studios to retain full creative control. With this new phase, Massive reaffirms its commitment to the program and opens its doors to more partners than ever before.

The expanded program comes with a streamlined onboarding process and newly reduced pricing, designed to lower barriers for publishers looking to scale and give relief to publishers impacted by the Diamond Comic Distributor bankruptcy. Applications are now open and the Massive Indies team will be contacting previous applicants who were not part of the initial wave of publishers.

Interested publishers are encouraged to apply via http://www.massiveindies.com
