Seven Seas Licenses Hate Me, but Let Me Stay – Mr. Asanaga and Mr. Yanagi Boys’ Love Manga Series

Seven Seas Entertainment has announced the license acquisition of the Mature-rated Boys’ Love manga series Hate Me, but Let Me Stay – Mr. Asanaga and Mr. Yanagi by Hijiki. The official spin-off to the wildly popular BL omegaverse series, Hate Me, but Let Me Stay! Asanaga and Yanagi are certainly more than friends, but…what does that make them exactly? See what romance blossoms in this spin-off series!

Elementary school teachers Asanaga, an alpha, and Yanagi, an omega, are more than friends but not quite lovers. And while their relationship began with Asanaga’s fervent, one-sided pursuit, Yanagi has found himself warming to his sincere—albeit pushy—affections. But even if he wishes he could stand on equal footing with Asanaga and reciprocate his feelings more openly, insecurity about his omega nature and traumatic past hold him back. In spite of it all, Asanaga is determined to make Yanagi his and show him just how wonderful true love can be!

Hate Me, but Let Me Stay – Mr. Asanaga and Mr. Yanagi will be released in January 2027 for $14.99 USA / $19.99 CAN, with the manga available in single volume editions as part of the Seven Seas BL Label (Boys’ Love titles). Ebook editions will also be available on digital platforms.

The Lost Fantasy Spinoff Fireborn Sells Out and Goes Back to Print with an Absolute Batman Homage Foil Variant

Lost Fantasy creator Curt Pires, singer/songwriter Franklin Jonas, and rising star artist Patrick Mulholland’s new series Fireborn hit big this week and has sold out completely at the distributor level. The debut issue of this new series is being rushed back to print this week by Image Comics in order to keep up with escalating demand.

The reprint cover will showcase art by Patrick Mulholland. There will also be a highly collectible foil Absolute Batman homage variant available.

Now every violent outlaw wizard, biker cultist, and supernatural warlord between New York City and The World Beneath is hunting him—and they’ll burn the world down to pry the egg from his corpse.

A high octane fusion of fantasy and superheroes, this new series is perfect for fans of Invincible, How To Train Your Dragon, and Absolute Batman.

Fireborn #1, second printing Cover A by Patrick Mulholland (Lunar Code 0326IM8365) and Fireborn #1, second printing Cover B foil Absolute Batman homage (Lunar Code 0326IM8397) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, May 13.

If you are a Mario Kart fan, government is Yoshi and philanthropy is the Golden Mushroom – Zohran Mamdani

New York City’s Mayor Zohran Mamdani is showing its politician’s unwillingness to act that has left so many Americans behind. In just a few months he’s launched numerous initiatives to better the city and attempt the make the lives of its residents better. He’s also savvy, simplifying issues in ways the average person can understand and relate.

Mamdani is attempting to get New Yorkers to donate to the Child Care Action Fund. It provides universal child care to everyone in the city who needs it. Its raised $3.5 million but needs $16.5 million to reach its goal, a drop in the bucket for the ultra-rich that call New York City home. While he’s talked about raising taxes on the ultra-wealthy, this one is being funded through just good old donations.

Mamdani took to explaining it all through Mario Kart in an April 16 press conference.

I like to think of it this way: government is driving the racecar, and philanthropy is there to give it that turbo boost across the finish line. Or, if you are a Mario Kart fan, government is Yoshi and philanthropy is the golden mushroom—that edge we need to beat Bowser on the Rainbow Road. To belabor this metaphor even further, Bowser is corporate greed in this scenario.

One of Mario Kart’s more fun mechanics is giving those behind in the race better items to help them compete while those ahead get less useful items.

Zohran Mamdani: "If you are a Mario Kart fan, government is Yoshi and philanthropy is the Golden Mushroom, that edge we need to beat Bowser on the Rainbow Road. To belabor this metaphor even further, Bowser is corporate greed in this scenario."

D’orc #1 heads to a Fifth Printing

D’orc #1, fifth printing

Runaway hit series D’orc by Brett Bean has sold out yet again at the distributor level. D’orc #1 will be rushed back to print by Image Comics in order to keep up with unending momentum for this white-hot series.

Armed with nothing but a wisecracking enchanted shield and a crippling need for friendship, D’orc follows a lonely orphan who stumbles headfirst into Sunderaine’s never-ending war. Light vs. Dark. Elves vs. Orcs. Wizards vs. Common Sense. Dragons vs. Literally Everyone. And caught dead-center? D’orc. Half dwarf, half orc, and wholly inconvenient to a doomsday prophecy, D’orc is destined to end the world. Soon, every human, elf, goblin, dwarf, Snargletooth, Necroid, Ice Giant, Trauma Llama, and at least three other unpronounceable magical creatures will know his name. Unfortunately, so will his enemies.

Perfect for fans of Conan the Barbarian, The Lord of the Rings, and, of course, I Hate Fairyland’s deadpan humor, D’orc is an adventure readers won’t want to miss.

D’orc #1 fifth printing arrives May 13. D’orc #2, third printing will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, May 6.

The Death Star is destroyed. Darth Vader is dead. The Empire is desolate. But on the forest moon of Endor, among the chaos of a changing galaxy, time stands still for a princess and her scoundrel.

After being frozen in carbonite, then risking everything for the Rebellion, Han is eager to stop living his life for other people. He and Leia have earned their future together, a thousand times over. And when he proposes to Leia, it’s the first time in a long time he’s had a good feeling about this. For Leia, a lifetime of fighting doesn’t seem truly over. There is work still to do, penance to pay for the dark secret that she now knows runs through her veins. Her brother, Luke, is offering her that chance—one that comes with family and the promise of the Force. But when Han asks her to marry him, Leia finds her answer immediately on her lips . . . Yes.

Yet happily ever after doesn’t come easily. As soon as Han and Leia depart their idyllic ceremony for their honeymoon, they find themselves on the grandest and most glamorous stage of all: the Halcyon, a luxury vessel on a very public journey to the most wondrous worlds in the galaxy. Their marriage, and the peace and prosperity it represents, are a lightning rod for all—including Imperial remnants still clinging to power.

Facing their most desperate hour, the soldiers of the Empire have dispersed across the galaxy, retrenching on isolated planets vulnerable to their influence. As the Halcyon travels from world to world, one thing becomes abundantly clear: The war is not over. But as danger draws closer, Han and Leia find that they fight their best battles not alone, but as husband and wife.
