You Can See Everything takes First in a Tepid Weekend Box Office
You Can See Everything was the top of the weekend box office after being in second place the previous weekend. The film grossed an estimated $10.6 million to bring its domestic gross to $63.9 million. There’s a possibility the movie slips to second when the final numbers are in as there’s about $200,000 between first and second place. The movie still has no reported international gross.
While $10.4 million in a second weekend might not seem great, it’s a solid gross for Clayface to give it second place. That number is solid because it’s just a 56.7% drop from the previous debut weekend. When “superhero” movies as well as horror movies regularly see drops of 65%+ in their second weekend, anything less than 60% is good. That brings the film to $44.1 million domestically. It double its international gross gaining $19.9 million over the week to bring the total to $38.9 million. The movie has grossed just under $83 million. While that might seem great for a DC Studios release, the movie has a reported budget of around $44 million so using the 2x formular to figure out if a movie is profitable, Clayface should be fine by the end of its run, even if you use 2.5x its budget.
Wicker improved moving up to third place as it added theaters and grossed $4.1 million domestically. That brings it to $13.3 million. There’s no international gross.
Street Fighter remained in fourth place with $3.2 million to bring its domestic gross to $53 million. Over the week, it grossed $6.2 million internationally to bring that total to $38.9 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $91.9 million.
BTS World Tour ‘Arirang’ in São Paulo: Live Viewing debuted in fifth place with $2.8 million domestically and no international gross. It has grossed $2.8 million in total.
In comic related movies…
Spider-Man: Brand New Day gained about $100,000 over the week to bring its domestic gross to $958.8 million. Internationally, it added $1 million over the week and has grossed $1.561 billion for a worldwide gross of $2.520 billion.
Avengers Endgame: Encore remained at $40.1 million domestically. Internationally, it added around $700,000 to bring that to $102.6 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed just under $142.7 million.
Coyote vs. Acme remained at $60.1 million domestically. Over the week, it grossed $400,000 internationally to bring that to $41.8 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $102 million. The movie would need to gross around $120 million for Ketchup to make a profit and it’d have had to have grossed $140 million if Warner Bros. released it.
Numbers have 36 movies grossing $51,858,513 from 37,358 theaters for an average of $1,388.15. That’s compared to last week’s 64 movies grossing $99,654,749 from 36,590 theaters for an average of $2,723.55.
