Willowstone Publishing launches Mouseborn, a new 5E-compatible tabletop RPG campaign

From Willowstone Publishing, Mouseborn is a 5E-compatible tabletop RPG campaign where players take on the role of tiny heroes navigating a dangerous and ever-changing forest. Blending woodland politics, ancient magic, and survival-focused gameplay, Mouseborn challenges players to outthink threats rather than overpower them. Designed for levels 1–5, it introduces new races, classes, enemies, and mechanics built specifically for small-scale adventure with big consequences.

The tabletop RPG campaign will be launching on Backerkit.

Something is stirring within the forest.

In Mouseborn, players step into a world where size is a disadvantage, and survival depends on clever thinking, careful movement, and knowing when not to fight.

Built on the foundation of 5E, Mouseborn reimagines traditional tabletop gameplay through the lens of tiny heroes. Players take on the roles of mice, frogs, birds, and other small creatures navigating a vast and dangerous woodland filled with shifting alliances, hidden threats, and ancient magic buried beneath the roots.

Every encounter is a decision. Fight, hide, escape, or adapt.

Mouseborn introduces six new playable races, four original classes, and a range of new spells and mechanics designed to reflect the realities of being small in a world that isn’t built for you. From towering roots to unseen dangers overhead, the environment itself becomes part of the challenge.

At the heart of the experience is a fully realized campaign for levels 1–5, where player choices shape the story and determine what future takes root in the forest.

Alongside the gameplay experience, Mouseborn brings its world to life through a collection of physical rewards, including custom dice sets, detailed miniatures, illustrated books, and collectible items inspired by the forest and its inhabitants.

Small heroes. Big consequences.

The forest is waking. The question is… what will you do when it does?
