Warhammer: Age of Sigmar‘s new edition releases continues to be the focus for Games Workshop with next week’s pre-orders. The main box for Skaventide, the newest edition, continues its pre-order for the second weekend but there’s numerous more releases coming as well.

The Warhammer Age of Sigmar Core Book is a 288-page hardback book and the ultimate companion to the new edition. It contains an awe-inspiring gatefold cosmology of the eight realms, many pages of gorgeous art and miniatures photography and summaries of every faction. The Core Book also includes the Core Rules, the Advanced Rules, Battlepack: First Blood for Matched Play, complete with three battleplans, and the narrative Battlepack: Ascension for Path to Glory. This includes four upgrade paths for your heroes, two for your units, and six battleplans.

The book is available in the regular edition as well as a numbered limited edition which comes with a slipcase.

The Warhammer Age of Sigmar: General’s Handbook 2024-25 takes you into the world of Matched Play. The 112-page spiral-bound book contains what you need to play balanced, competitive games using the rules from the first season, which lasts a year. The book includes Core and Advanced Rules, as well as the Season Rules. They’re themed on powerful boons for your general’s honor guard. It includes 12 battleplans, representing “greatest hits” from previous editions, a rules update for all of the universal Endless Spells, and a Tournament Organizer’s pack that provides advice in how to run events.

Spearhead: Fire and Jade Gaming Pack will help you dive into Spearhead, the new game mode for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. It allows for lightning-fast games. The box contains what you need to start playing with your own collections. There’s four pieces of terrain and snap-together 3″ and 6″ range rules, a double-sided game board with printed objectives. One side is Aqshy and the other is Ghyran. There’s also a Twist Deck for each side and two identical Battle Tactic decks for each player.

The Battlepack for Spearhead will be available for free, and every faction’s Spearhead rules will be available in their Faction Packs, both in physical and digital editions.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar Faction Packs feature all the rules needed for factions in one place. Each pack will be available to download for free before the launch of the new edition and will be available to purchase as a deck of cards. Each includes a background summary, cards with the army’s Battle Traits, Battle Formations, Heroic Traits, Artefacts of Power, Spell Lores, Prayer Lores, and Manifestation Lores. There’s also cards for games of Spearhead, with Battle Traits, Regiment Traits, Enhancements, and warscroll cards.

The Orruk Warclans Faction Pack set contains rules for both the Ironjawz and Kruleboyz in one pack, and that there is currently no Spearhead for the Ironjawz.

The Free digital editions of these Faction Packs will be available to download soon after release.

Warhammer: Age of Sigmar – Skaventide invades White Dwarf Issue 502. The edition features information on the new edition of the game with behind the scenes interviews, painting and modeling advice, and a battle report from the new edition. There’s also Warhammer 40,000 with a summary of the Xenowar in Warzone Chalnath, a commentary on Pariah Nexus Chapter Approved Mission Pack, and a set of Crusade rules for the new setting.

Coming from Black Library is Morvenn Vahl: Spear of Faith Mega Limited Edition. Under the command of the warlord Kol Rakhul, Death of Saints, the Night Lords have attacked Ophelia VII and ransacked its Great Libraries. Only Morvenn Vahl, Abbess Sanctorum and High Lord of Terra, and her fearless Adepta Sororitas sisters stand in their way. By Jude Ried the volume features a velvet effect cloth cover with embroidered pattern, gold foil details, and a red ribbon marker. Each copy is individually numbered and features an exclusive afterword from the author. It also includes six art prints. There’s also The Book of Saints itself. Copies are limited.

The Daughters of the Emperor is a week-long eShort subscription featuring five short stories featuring the Adepta Sororitas. Stories are by Jude Reid, John Sollitto, Kate Flack, Nicholas Werner, and Ness Brown.
