Where the Data Ranks 2017’s Comic Book Films. Wonder Woman Cross $700 million.

Wonder Woman became the highest grossing film domestically of the new DC Universe leading Batman v Superman by about $16 million. The film has overperformed DC’s films domestically by about $23 million so far but internationally it’s lagging. Even lagging, the film crossed the $700 million mark. The film is also the best return on budget of the DC Universe so far earning a 4.75 multiplier beating Suicide Squad‘s 4.26.

Already, the year is an interesting one with three clear successes and a whole lot of mixed otherwise. Wonder Woman, Logan and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 have done well this year, The LEGO Batman Movie and Smurfs: The Lost Village are in that debatable area, and Wilson and Ghost in the Shell are generally disappointments.
