Review: Intertwined #5
The countdown to the end starts here! As one murder case closes, another one is re-opened! Learn the shocking truth behind the murder of the previous Spirit of the Earth! Juan Jin’s first battle as the new Spirit in town could definitely be his last. He’ll have to really accept to become the hero his peers saw in him and embrace his destiny.
With only one issue remaining in Intertwined, writer Fabrice Sapolsky begins to ramp things up. The issue starts with a massive fight between Juan and the Ghost Daggers. That manages to put Juan right where destiny wants him to be. Yet the spirit of metal has other plans for all the elemental spirits, not just the Spirit of Earth. Which leaves one wondering what will happen next and how this will all wrap up with the next issue.
The art by Fred Pham Chuong manages to continue the delicate balance between the mystical and the martial arts aspect of the story. There are clearly defined mystical elements as it reveals the look and host of each spirit. There is also a good amount of kung-fu action throughout which should make fans of that type of story happy and entertained.
