Get Out Wins the Weekend, LEGO Batman Drops to Second

get-outGet Out got people out to the theaters. The film earned an estimated $30.5 million in its debut weekend. The film has earned a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, an 8.1 on IMDB, and A- Cinemascore. The film’s positive word of mouth should see it do well next weekend even against tough competition wit Logan‘s debut.

The film bumped The LEGO Batman Movie which moved to second place earning an estimated $19 million. The $80 million film has earned $133 million domestically so far.

John Wick: Chapter Two moved up a slot and was third for the weekend. It earned an estimated $9 million. It bumped down The Great Wall which slipped to fourth with $8.7 million.

Rounding out the top five was Fifty Shades Darker which earned $7.7 million.

In other debuts, Rock Dog was #11 with $3.7 million and Collide was #13 with $1.5 million.

Doctor Strange continued to bring in the dollars adding $81,000 to its domestic total bringing its worldwide total to $675.9 million. We’ll have more analysis of comic films later this afternoon.
