TV Review: The Flash S2E23 The Race of His Life
Season 2 ends with Zoom revealing his true plan and Barry vowing to do whatever it takes to stop him.
The Flash wraps up the second season with an episode that’s one to hurt the brains of so many as it plays with time and alternate worlds. It’s a lot to take in and I feel like you need an infographic to get you through it all.
The episode sets up the big showdown between Barry as the Flash and Zoom with so much thrown in there that’ll make Flash fans squeal with excitement as to all of the nods and tips of the hat to the comics that have come before.
Zoom’s plan is convoluted and over the top, kind of like a comic villain’s should be, but there’s something that’s somewhat fitting about it all.
The episode is really about two things, the action and the heart.
The heart is Barry dealing with the death of his father, the revelation of the man in the iron mask and the fall-out. His relationship with Iris is moved forward a bit, and done so in an actual adult way. There maybe should have been a bit more emotion, but it’s not forced and feels natural.
But really the episode is amazing in some ways in that it gives fans some amazing moments. Those last two minutes are beyond amazing and had me both jumping up and down for joy and in awe of what might come in season three. One hell of an ending for the second season and I can’t wait for the third.
