TV Review: iZombie S2E6 Max Wager
Liv unwittingly crosses the path with of most dangerous man in Seattle when she investigates the murder of a degenerate gambler. At the victim’s funeral, Babineaux questions a former NBA star, Meanwhile, Blaine’s father makes a huge discovery.
iZombie has an interesting episode in that it has a lot of the usual crime solving story, but the episode also moves a lot of smaller plot points along, which is cool.
At the center is Liv and Major’s relationship which is movie ahead. Of course there’s the Major was an assassin story which is skipped here (sort of), but they figure out a way to make it work although she’s a zombie. There’s something very cute about it all.
The big thing though is the focus on Blaine who is both much more sympathetic and also a shithead after this episode. We learn about his father, and there’s some interesting changes in his population. That’s all super interesting, and what he does towards the end of the episode is… intriguing. It’s almost like a whole plot was opened up with Blaine in this episode alone.
But here’s a question. If the zombie virus goes through condoms, how is it not caught by kissing? Plot hole! Please explain, cause now I’ll be focused on this small detail.
Other than that, the episode is the usual fun.
