TV Review: The Flash S2E4 The Fury of Firestorm

The Flash Season 2Barry and the team look for another Firestorm match for Dr. Stein. When the team meets Jefferson Jackson, Caitlin has her reservations about whether Jax is the right match for Dr. Stein. Iris surprises Joe while Barry and Patty grow closer.

Dr Stein is hurting and he needs someone to join with him to become stable, which is the heart of this new episode of The Flash. The episode is interesting in how it introduces the two choices, both of which have some issues as to why they might not be the best candidate.

The episode is generally a weak one for the season and even last season. It’s pretty obvious what will happen, and who will get chosen and what will happen with the one not. It leads up to a battle and the team figuring out how to defeat the baddy together.

The episode really does its best in its sub-stories, the best being the return of Iris’ mom and a revelation that’ll set some interesting stuff up down the road. Also the return of Dr. Wells is being teased nicely and dragged out at a decent pace.

The episode isn’t bad, it’s just nothing particularly special for a show that has been so good up to this point. Still entertaining, we’ve just seen better.

That ending though….

Overall Rating: 7.75
