TV Review: iZombie S1E5 Flight of the Living Dead
Liv must eat the brains of her murdered sorority sister in order to gain insight about the crime.
The fifth episode of iZombie is nice in that it gives Liv a bit of a more normal life and a potential boyfriend as the world expands and more characters are introduced.
The crime is an interesting one, but the actual “who did it” isn’t all that cleared and I got to the end of the episode feeling like I completely missed it. Probably not the best of things, since that’s sort of the whole show.
Instead, the episode more focuses on Liv’s past and possibly her future. The characteristics she gains aren’t quite as pronounced as past episodes, but it’s present.
The episode is probably the weakest of the series so far, but it’s still very cute and enjoyable. It felt more as an episode to push some characters in certain directions, like the missing kids storyline and give Liv a love interest. It’s a bridge episode, not a solid one that stands on it’s own.
iZombie is a great show, and beyond entertaining. It bucked its formula a bit this episode and stumbled, but still, much better than a lot that’s on television. Ever series deserves one bad episode. Hopefully this is it.
