For a part of Tuesday evening #Spider-Man became the top trending topic on Twitter, but why?  There turned out to be a confluence of events that saw it reach a fervor.

• Spider-Man 3 was being shown on television
• Rumors kicked up that Logan Lerman would star as the character in the reboot
• @FakeAPStylebook posted the very funny Tweet, “The correct spelling of ‘Spider-Man’ takes a hyphen. Knowing this is why we can’t get dates.”  Which was retweeted numerous times.
• And this activity caused people to use the term when asking, “why is Spider-Man a trending topic?”

All of these factored into it’s interesting rise in chatter.  Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
