SDCC 2026: IDW reveals the final chapter of Event Horizon, Pandemonium

Heaven is real… and it’s worse than Hell. Eisner Award-winning writer Christian Ward – the architect behind the bestselling Event Horizon prequel and sequel comics at IDW Publishing’s hit horror imprint IDW Dark – presents the jaw-dropping final chapter in his acclaimed trilogy.

Joined by master of horror artist Hernán González, Event Horizon: Pandemonium brings chaos and terror to comic shops this December. The haunting world of Paramount Pictures’ Event Horizon expands into other dimensions as familiar faces from the nightmarish saga reunite for a finale full of shocking twists and turns.

The Chaos Realm has taken over the comic book industry and it’s easier than ever to catch up on the celebrated stories. The complete prequel tale, Event Horizon: Dark Descent, goes on sale July 28 everywhere books are sold. The sequel series, Event Horizon: Inferno, is currently releasing, with the first three issues on sale now in comic shops and issue #4 releasing August 5.

Pre-orders for Event Horizon: Pandemonium are due October 19. 

SDCC 2026: Indiana Jones returns to comics with The Sword of Pandemonium

During the Lucasfilm Publishing Panel at San Diego Comic-Con it was announced that Indiana Jones returns to Marvel Comics this December in Indiana Jones and The Sword of Pandemonium, an all-new five-issue limited series from superstar writer Jason Aaron and acclaimed artist Aaron Kuder. The series kicks off an all-new era of comic book adventures for the iconic archaeologist set during the original groundbreaking films.

In the wake of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indy’s most notorious villains, including the impossible return of an archenemy, seek a terrifying new source of power to recoup their loss—one that’s fallen into the hands of his former companion, Marion Ravenwood. Now, Indiana Jones has to race to the far corners of the globe in search of a biblical weapon, embarking on an epic quest that will put both his archeology skills and skepticism of the supernatural to the ultimate test!

The reveal of Indiana Jones and The Sword of Pandemonium follows the recent announcement of ‘Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book I’ and ‘Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book II,’ new deluxe hardcovers collecting the character’s beloved 1980s Marvel Comics sagas, coming in September.

SDCC 2026: IDW Unveils 2027 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Plans with Matthew Rosenberg and Juann Cabal Taking Over plus The Last Ronin’s Finale

A new wave of Turtle fandom is coming to comic shops in 2027. When the best-selling Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) flagship series reaches issue #25 in 2027, current writer Gene Luen Yang will pass the bo staff to award-winning writer Matthew Rosenberg and amazing artist Juann Cabal. While the acclaimed writer is no stranger to playing in Marvel and DC’s sandbox, it’s the indie space where he has truly thrived and made an unforgettable impact on the comic industry. Rosenberg, a lifelong resident of the Turtles’ very own New York City, is bringing this same energy to the Heroes in a Half-Shell. The winners of the 2026 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards have been announced during a ceremony that took place during San Diego Comic-Con 2026. This year’s awards cover works published between January 1 and December 31, 2025 and was chosen by a panel of judges.

This year’s nominees cover 32 categories, with over 170 print and online titles, from around 75 publishers.

DC was the most decorated publisher with 16 nominations plus 10 shared, Image Comics received 12 nominations and 9 shared, and Fantagraphics received 14 nominations.

Deniz Camp was the most nominated creator with 5 nominations. James Tynion IV received 4 nominations.

SDCC 2026: Lanterns gets an Official Trailer Ahead of its August Debut!

HBO Max has unveiled the official trailer for the DC Studios drama series Lanterns, from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television, during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) featuring stars Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, and co-creators Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King. The eight-episode season debuts Sunday, August 16 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

The series follows new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery with cosmic ties as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.

The series stars Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Laura Linney, Jason Ritter, Ulrich Thomsen, Nathan Fillion, J. Alphonse Nicholson, and Jasmine Cephas Jones.

SDCC 2026: DC reveals Shadow of the Bat by Deniz Camp and Javier Rodríguez

During it’s “DC Next Level” panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, DC has revealed Shadow of the Bat by Deniz Camp and Javier Rodríguez. That’s in addition to the announced Vixen and Static series.

Additional DC Next Level titles, creative teams, and storylines will be revealed in the months ahead as DC builds toward a landmark year of storytelling across the DC Universe.
