HEROBEAR AND THE KID ANNUAL 2013

Written by Mike Kunkel
Drawn by Mike Kunkel

It’s Halloween…one of Tyler’s favorite times of the year. Everyone loves to dress up, hang out with friends, and of course, the free candy. Tyler tries his best to do what all kids aim to do on Halloween and that’s getting all the candy possible. Good thing he has Herobear to help him this year!

Herobear and the Kid was a self-published, all-ages hit before all-ages comics were en vogue. It’s a beautifully drawn, endearing story that connects both with kids and the kid in all of us who dreamed of having a hero best friend.

Mike Kunkel’s charming art will remind you of classic animation techniques and his stories will inspire and warm your heart. It’s a perfect comic to hand to the young dreamer in your life or share with your family.

We’re finally seeing Herobear and Tyler make way as they become great friends while at the same time trying to learn more about Tyler’s grandpa and the mystery that surrounds Herobear. Too bad Tyler has to deal with a giant, wind-up robot at the same time, but what’s a story without its trials?

After his grandfather passes away, 10-year old Tyler inherits an old stuffed toy bear and a broken pocket watch. If dealing with bullies wasn’t enough, he soon learns that things aren’t always what they seem…and that you shouldn’t judge a bear by its cover. In this issue, join Tyler and Herobear as Tyler finds out he kinda loves this superhero gig! A beautifully rendered work that perfectly captures what it is to be a kid.
