Marvel Dice Masters: The Amazing Spider-Man, Out Now!

Dice Masters: The Amazing Spider-Man is now out in stores adding new cards, characters, new mechanics, and more! Wizkids has released the usual items including a Starter Set, Gravity Feed Foil Packs, Playmat, Collector’s Box, and Team Box.

The set features fan-favorite characters like Spider-Man, Ghost Rider, Kingpin, and also premieres the Sinister Six, Allies, Underdogs, and other exciting mechanics.

For those new to the game, or wanting to easily get some dice and cards, the Starter Set is a great way to begin. The Start set includes 44 custom dice, 38 cards, two dice bags, and rulebook. Exactly what you need to start playing. The set generally retails for $19.99, but deals can be found.

For those who want to collect the set or get new cards and dice, Foil Packs are the way to go. Each foil pack contains two dice and two cards, it’s the way to get the main set which features more than 30 heroes and villains. The set obviously features Spider-Man, but also Gwen Stacy, Aunt May, Blink, the Sinister Six, Agent Venom, Cloak, Dagger, and some cool mechanics like Allies and Underdogs. Foil packs generally retail for $0.99 or about $90 for a full gravity feed booster box. You can definitely find full booster boxes for lower than the suggested retail price.

You need a place to store all of those dice, and the Collector’s Box is a great way to go! Retailing for $24.99, the box has space for over 300 dice plus you get 20 dice (action dice and sidekick dice), basic action cards, indicator cards, as well as a Full Art Promo Card and a felt dice bag. You also get four foil backs for the set too.

Speaking of storing items, there’s also a Team Box to help you organize your cards and dice for when you go to stores for casual play, organized play, and even tournaments. It’s an easy way to keep things organized and easy to find, especially after you have a huge collection and and are choosing cards and dice from multiple sets. The Team Box comes with some really solid art and retails for $19.99, though you can find them much cheaper.

Finally, you need something to play on right? While the Starter Set and Collector’s Box each provide a paper mat to play on, I enjoy using an official Playmat for the size and comfort. Each mat is really well put together laying out the steps of the game, providing lots of space to organize your cards and dice, and the material is super comfortable. Mats retail for $19.99, but can be found cheaper.

Wizkids Announces Marvel Dice Masters: Age of Ultron in July

WizKids has announced the release date for its latest release in its wildly popular Dice Masters line – Marvel Dice Masters: Age of Ultron. Set for a July 2015 release, Marvel Dice Masters: Age of Ultron has you battling it out with a friend, using Super Heroes and villains from the Marvel Universe, and features fan favorites like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow and more!

The release will be supported with four releases a starter set, gravity feed foil packs, a playmat and collector’s box.

The Marvel Dice Masters: Age of Ultron Starter Pack will be available for a suggested retail price of $19.99 USD, and will include 44 custom dice, 38 cards, two dice bags and a rulebook – everything a new player needs to launch themselves into two-player dice-battling fun in the Marvel Universe.

The gravity feed set features 30 new characters (and their dice) to add to your game. Pack retail for $0.99 and features two dice and their cards in each pack.

The playmat features new artwork for the Age of Ultron theme, and features all the information you need for your games including a life meter, areas for character dice, areas for basic action cards and dice, and each area is color-coded for ease of play. The playmat retail for $19.99.

Wizkids Announce New Dice Masters. Teen Titans Go! Organized Play and Marvel’s Amazing Spider-Man

Wizkids has released some information at future sets for their popular Dice Masters game focused on Teen Titans Go! and the Amazing Spider-Man.

September sees the release of the DC Comics Dice Masters: Teen Titans Go! organized play. Each kit features 5 copies each of 2 limited edition DC Comics Dice Masters competitive prize cards, 20 limited edition DC Comics Dice Masters participation cards, and one instruction sheet. There’s a maximum of 3 per store, unless that store receives exemption. Each kit supports up to 10 players.

In November Marvel Dice Masters: The Amazing Spider-Man hits shelves. The release will feature a starter set, gravity feed, playmat, team box, and collector’s box. The starter set features characters such as Spider-Man, Ghost Rider, Kingpin, and premieres the Sinister Six, Allies, Underdogs, and other mechanics.

In August DC Comics Dice Masters: War of Light will be released including a new starter set, gravity feed, playmat, team box and collector’s set.

Wizkids Announces Marvel Dice Masters: Avengers: Age of Ultron

WizKids‘ dice game Dice Masters is getting another new set. The company has announced a new set Marvel Dice Masters: Avengers Age of Ultron. The new set will be released on May 6, that’s the week after Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out in theaters.

The new set will feature brand new characters never released before such as Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Captain Marvel, Daredevil, and Kang. It’ll also include new versions of characters such as Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Black Widow, and Thor.

The Starter set comes with 44 dice, 38 cards, two dice bags and a rulebook. The Starter set retails for $19.99. There’s also be a 90-Ct Gravity Feed which will feature 30 new characters and retail for $0.99 a pack.

This is the third Dice Masters set based on Marvel properties. The first had a rocky start with shortages that are only being rectified now. A new set, Uncanny X-Men, was set to be released soon, but shipping delays have resulted the product to be delayed a few weeks.

The game will also see two other franchises adapted, DC Comics and Dungeons & Dragons.

2014 Wizkids Open Announced

Today, Wizkids announced the first annual Wizkids Open tournament, to be held at participating retail locations across the U.S. this fall. Featuring some of the hottest games of the year, including Marvel Dice Masters: Avengers vs. X-Men, HeroClix, and Star Trek Attack Wing, players will compete in head-to-head battles to earn glory, exclusive prizes and their rightful place in the 2015 National Championships.

The WizKids Open is WizKids’ first ever officially sponsored regional gaming event. This year’s event will be hosted at seven stores, spanning from coast to coast. Most will support regional championships for HeroClix, Dice Masters and Attack Wing as well as smaller events and the ability to buy product that was typically only available for purchase from conventions.

Each location will be offering for-sale exclusive items and awarding special participation prizes to players as well as providing the opportunity to compete with the best players in their area.

The turn out and success of this inaugural event will determine if this will indeed be a yearly thing. There’s also a possbility for other stores to join in in future ones based on their event registration participation, the number of events held, product ordered, their history of running these types of events, and generally how the store is laid out. They are also working on expanding this for international stores as well.

Wizkids Updates on Avengers Vs. X-Men Dice Masters

It hasn’t been easy to get a hold of Wizkids‘ new game Avengers Vs. X-Men Dice Masters. Demand has exceeded supply which has left stock short since the launch and prices skyrocketing on the secondary market. The $15 starter set has easily commanded $40 and up with prices at times ending over $60 in auctions. So, yeah, grab the game if you can find it.

Wizkids has sent out an email with an update as to where things stand.

The next wave of Starters will arrive at the end of June with another wave of Gravity Feeds arriving in late July. Despite our best efforts to fill demand with these reprints, the product is still pre-selling before it arrives. We were able to bring on a very sizable amount of capacity, which has enabled us to add a reprint to the schedule (available in September).

We are also keeping an eye on the longshoremen labor dispute on the U.S. West Coast, and will deal with that issue if and when it happens. Obviously, any sort of strike will ripple through most of our product lines so we’re monitoring the situation keenly.

The short version of the above is, buy it if you can find it, but expect more shortages for a bit. Wizkids is ramping things up, and they think they’ll be the largest dice manufacturer in the world when they’re done getting to max capacity.

While there is a short supply, that hasn’t stopped the company from thinking about in-story organized play. With that in mind, they’ve released a format they’ve dubbed the Rainbow Draft. It’s an interesting format and should be interesting when things get officially underway. wizkids
