Venture into a haunted comic book shop for tales of terror with Shock Shop!

Cullen Bunn, Danny Luckert, and Leila Leiz present Shock ShopShock Shop is a brand-new horror anthology flip comic that takes place in a haunted comic book shop, featuring a twisted retailer filled with tales of terror. Readers will encounter two scary stories told across four comic issues. Each issue will feature variant covers by a host of horrifyingly talented artists, including Francesco Francavilla, Fábio Moon, Caitlin Yarsky, James Stokoe, James Harren, and Tonci Zonjic

In FAMILIARS: After a painful divorce and custody battle, Trevor rents a house and tries to rebuild his life. Soon, he discovers that his house appears to be “haunted” by more than one spirit: the minions of a long-dead coven of witches. When the creatures begin feeding on Trevor’s feelings of anger and guilt, they lash out at those who draw his ire, whether he wants them to or not.

In SOMETHING IN THE WOODS, IN THE DARK: A husband and wife who are going through a tough time go on a camping trip with a few friends into the deep woods. As they trek further into the forest, they realize that they are being stalked. Something in the woods starts killing the campers–a hideous, inhuman thing that may have more ties to the campers than any of them realize.

Shock Shop #1 will be available at comic stores September 7, 2022 and is available for pre-order at your local comic shop, with a retail price of $3.99.

The new trailer grants a sneak peek into the world of Afterschool, where morals have eroded, and the kids are out of control. Someone’s got to teach them a lesson. Beginning with Nora, who’s got a new best friend with a killer secret…and no one is going to tear them apart. Afterschool presents four standalone comics, four different stories, and one simple truth: the good die young, but the bad die better.

The Last Book You’ll Ever Read #1 Sells Out and Rushed Back to Print

The first issue of Vault‘s new horror series, The Last Book You’ll Ever Read, has sparked a fire among readers. So much so that the first issue has completely sold out at the distributor on the day of release. The issue is being rushed back to print with a new cover that will be announced soon. The second printing will go on sale on September 1st, the same day as issue #2.

The Last Book You’ll Ever Read is written by Cullen Bunn, drawn by Leila Leiz, colored by Giada Marchisio, lettered by Jim Campbell, and designed by Tim Daniel. The sold-out first printing of issue #1 went on sale July 28th, 2021.

Multiple Emmy award-nominated actress Emilia Clarke will debut her first comic book series — the forthcoming M.O.M.: Mother of Madness—at Image Comics this July. This new, three-issue superhero series will be co-written by the GLAAD Media Award-nominated Marguerite Bennett with art by Leila Leiz.

AfterShock Sends Out an S.O.S. with Support Our Shops

Comic shops have been seeing added pressure, challenges, and obstacles over the past three months with COVID-19 and a downturn economy. Publisher AfterShock Comics, has announced the release of Support Our Shops (S.O.S.), a 48-page comic featuring seven stories from top creators, to be distributed at no cost to comic shops through Diamond Comic Distributors. 

S.O.S.features from some of the industry’s most celebrated creators emphasizing that fundamentally irreplaceable role played by comic shops in their lives and in the lives of fans. The title includes exclusive stories from Cullen Bunn, Stephanie Phillips, Zac Thompson, Steve Orlando, Jamie McKelvie, Jerry Ordway, and Aaron Douglas, with art from Leila Leiz, Don Kramer, Szymon Kudranski, Ro Stein, and Ted Brandt, Gordon Purcell and Cliff Richards, with cover conceived and executed by David Mack.

S.O.S. will be distributed to Diamond’s top-ranked 200 AfterShock accounts, which will each receive 20 free copies (per storefront) with their 6/24 on-sale books. The next 300 highest ranked stores will each receive 10 free copies. Stores not included in this ranking may receive a number of copies upon request or through their AfterShock Ambassador.

AfterShock’s S.O.S. was created so that each comic shop can leverage the title to best suit their individual needs and goals. It can be given away free, used as a purchase incentive, put into the pull boxes of AfterShock readers, or sold directly to consumers at a suggested price to help recoup losses that may have been sustained through pandemic-related closures and events.
