Cyclops assembles a team you don’t want to mess with in X-Men #1 variant covers

Following Krakoa’s fall, it’s a dangerous time to be a mutant in the Marvel Universe. Luckily, Cyclops will step up to lead a formidable new team in Jed MacKay and Ryan Stegman’s X-Men #1. Fans won’t want to miss these three variant covers for the debut issue!

In MacKay and Stegman’s X-Men, mutant business is Cyclops’ business as the first X-Man makes it his mission to keep hope alive for the species—by any means necessary! Cyclops’ group includes some of his most trusted soldiers like Psylocke, Magik, and Beast, the brightest of the next generation including Kid Omega and Temper, along with powerhouses like Magneto and Juggernaut. Raising a flag of defiance at their new base in Alaska, everyone in the world will soon know that if they want to go after mutantkind, they’ll have to go through them first! 

X-Men, the first of three flagship titles set in the X-Men’s From the Ashes era, will have new variant covers including a group shot by celebrated X-Men artist Tony Daniel, a character spotlight by J. Scott Campbell that will also be available as a virgin variant cover, and a hidden gem piece by the legendary George Pérez, whose iconic depiction of Beast during his time with the Avengers inspired Stegman’s own take on the character!

The Teen Titans go to the movies again with a Live-Action Movie from DC Studios

While we’re still a year away from the relaunch of DC Studios‘ film universe, we have word that a new one will be joining the slate. The Teen Titans will be getting a live-action film, their first. Ana Nogueira will pen the screenplay for the film. Nogueira has already written Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, one of the films already greenlit and in production for DC Studios.

There’s been different takes on the Teen Titans over the years but they saw their first real success in the 1980s when Marv Wolfman and George Perez took over. The team has consisted of a team of younger heroes like the former Robin turned Nightwing, Kid Flash, Aqualad, and Wonder Girl. It has also had breakout characters like Beast Boy and Cyborg. Cyborg was featured in Zack Snyder’s Justice League film. It’s unknown which characters will be featured in the film.

The property has spawn successful animated shows and animated films such Teen Titans Go!,Teen Titans Go! to the Movies, Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans, among others.

The Harvey Awards Hall of Fame Inductees for 2023 revealed

The Harvey Awards have revealed this year’s inductees into the Harvey Awards Hall of Fame in advance of the ceremony taking place at New York Comic Con. The 2023 Harvey Awards include six renowned creators being honored: Chris Claremont, Walt Simonson, Louise Simonson, Marv Wolfman, the late George Pérez, and Bill Griffith.

The Harvey Awards Hall of Fame inductees will be recognized at the 35th annual awards ceremony on Friday, October 13, 2023, during New York Comic Con.

The Harvey Awards Committee is co-chaired by Nellie Kurtzman, John Lind, and Chip Mosher. Chris D’Lando and Camilla Di Persia of ReedPop and Eden Miller coordinate the awards.

Michael Straczynski, known for celebrated runs on Amazing Spider-Man and Thor, returns to Marvel Comics and will be taking the reins of one of its greatest icons in a new run of Captain America! Marvel has announced a new collaboration with Hasbro that will result in brand-new collections and reprints of Rom’s original comic book adventures!

The popular toy turned comic book superstar headlined his very own solo series throughout the 80s, igniting readers’ imaginations for 75 issues. Set in the main Marvel Comics universe, Rom was a full-fledged Marvel icon who had memorable team-ups with the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men, and even battled bravely against the likes of Galactus and the Skrulls!
