Get a Comic Character Named After You for Charity

Mark Millar SuperiorSay what you will about Mark Millar, but the man is dedicated to raising money for his brother’s charity.  He’s at it again, this time allowing to bid and have your name be the main character’s in his upcoming comic Superior.

Following in the footsteps of his auctions for the lead roles in Kick-Ass and Nemesis, Millar has pledged to give everything he can raise here and more towards a special needs unit in a school where his brother, Dr Bobby Millar, has been raising cash for handicapped children for several years.

“Resources are tight at all schools and hospitals in the current economic climate, but we had great success with the Kick-Ass and Nemesis auctions, and hopefully we can raise a similar sum again with this opportunity. To star as a comic-book hero is pretty cool and the intense movie-studio and production-company interest for “Superior” should bode well that whoever wins this auction will get their name out there in many other media too. Dave Lizewski is now an action figure and movie icon as well as a comic-book character and both Matt Anderson and Blake Morrow are delighted to find themselves as the leads in the upcoming Tony Scott adaptation of Nemesis. This could be your big chance and whatever money I receive from the auction will be added to with a private donation of my own and given to the school to celebrate the new term ahead.”

Be sure to bid for your chance to be Millarworld’s next big hit!

Again, a fantastic use of comics, and we applaud Millar for doing this not once, but now a total of three times.  Just great to see.

Head over to ebay to get your bid in which ends on September 9.

Another Nemesis Auction For Charity

NemesisMark Millar recently auctioned off the chance to name the hero to his upcoming series Nemesis.  The auction netted $8,400 and the winner was art director Blake Morrow.  The fundraiser helped to fund Mark Millar’s brother’s attempt to buy a bus for disabled children he works with.

Now Millar is auctioning off the villain’s name on Ebay as well.

In 2008, Mark Millar made comic-book history when he offered fans a chance to be the superhero, Kick-Ass! Last week, Mark Millar again gave fans the opportunity to be the hero of his upcoming new series, “Nemesis,” drawn by best-selling artist Steve McNiven. “Nemesis” is about the fight between America’s smartest cop and the world’s one and only super-villain.Now that America’s smartest cop has a name, Dynamic Forces will once again host an auction for “Nemesis,” but this time the winner’s name will be used as the secret identity of the villainous Nemesis! And again all proceeds raised from this once-in-a-lifetime event will go directly into a special fund that will assist handicapped children.

“Can I just say a huge thank you to everyone who participated in the first auction,” said Mark Millar. “The kids and staff at my brother’s school were delighted and the $8,400 raised means a quarter of their target has been reached already. I had chosen a good secret identity for Nemesis himself, but it seems almost selfish not to auction this now too and possibly reach the halfway line the kids need for this bus. I’m amazed how much cash was raised the first time around, but am hoping the auction to name the TITLE character raises even more. Dave Lizewski loves the fact he’s the lead in the Kick-Ass comic, movie and upcoming video-game and I’m hoping whoever wins this new auction is equally delighted. A huge thanks to them for finding the cash in these difficult times.”

“I’d like to say thank you to the readers of Mark’s comic books and to all those who have supported this cause by participating in the Nemesis auction,” stated Bobby Millar. “The money raised will go a long way towards helping the school buy a much-needed minibus for our youngsters. Many thanks also to the team behind the auction who have volunteered their talents in order to make the auction a huge success!” ,p>Millar has had amazing success with his creator-owned characters being picked up for movies and it was only a few years ago that Dave Lizewski was immortalized as the winning bidder for the Kick-Ass auction. Now, Dave will now be immortalized forever in comic books, movies, and upcoming video games and toys. Be sure to bid at (Insert Link) for one day only for your chance to be the next Dave Lizewski!

Name Nemesis’s Nemesis for Charity

NemesisMark Millar is auctioning off the name of the villain for his newest series Nemesis.  He did the same for the name of the lead in his other series Kick-Ass, which was won by Dave Lizewski.  Millar is a Hollywood golden boy right now so there’s a good chance Nemesis will likely be hitting the movies screens (like Kick-Ass) so there’s also a possibility you might see your name in big letters on top of on top of the printed page.

The auction will benefit the charity that Mark Millars brother, the doctor, works with, caring for handicapped children in Scotland.

My older brother, Dr. Bobby Millar, works with these children every day and he explained to me what a difference it would make if they could get a new bus. Resources are tight at all schools and hospitals in the current economic climate, but we had a great success with the Kick-Ass auction and feel hopeful that comic-book readers will dig deep again and they can build towards this pretty hefty amount of cash they need for the vehicle. Steven and I have had an amazing run of luck with Civil War and Old Man Logan and we’re hoping “Nemesis” will be similarly massive. To star as a comic-book hero is pretty cool and the intense movie-studio and production-company interest for “Nemesis” before the book even hits the stands should bode well that whoever wins this auction will get their name out there in many other media too, just like Dave Lizewski. I really hope people get behind this as the staff at the school do a terrific job and the kids would be delighted with this nice, new bus everyone has their eye on.

Bidding ends on January 28th so head to Ebay and bid for a very cool experience and great charity.

Error RingThe rings have been hitting Ebay and are fetching some decent cash.  Dubbed “Error Rings” the items were originally being sold for about $15 a pop.  Things have kicked up with an Agent Orange ring produced as red recently being sold for $103, a Sapphire ring with Orange logo went for $89 and a green ring with Sapphire logo and yellow ring with blue logo each went for $35.
