Eaglemoss Hero Collector Launches a Comprehensive Encyclopedia of Star Trek Ships

In a move sure to be hailed by Star Trek fans of every generation, Eaglemoss Hero Collector has announced the publication of the first volume in the new Star Trek Shipyards series, the definitive visual encyclopedia to each and every ship that’s ever appeared in any corner of the storied Star Trek universe, either on television or in theaters.

Officially Authorized by CBS Studios and written by Ben Robinson, Marcus Riley and Matt McAllister, Star Trek Shipyards: Starfleet Ships 2151-2293 is a comprehensive 184 page hardcover chronological history and visual guide featuring in-depth profiles of Starfleet ships from the birth of the Federation to the launch of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-B and the presumed death of Captain James T. Kirk.  It also includes a chapter on Earth’s pre-Federation vessels, including Zefram Cochrane’s Phoenix, which made mankind’s first faster-than-light journey.

Lavishly illustrated with CG artwork using original VFX models created for the Star Trek TV shows and films, this volume also provides fans with what will be for most of them the first opportunity to see all the starships from Star Trek: Discovery in close detail, even the ones that were barely visible in the climactic battle sequence from the series’ second episode, “Battle at the Binary Stars.”

Star Trek Shipyards: Starfleet Ships 2151-2293 is also available in a deluxe window-boxed edition that includes a die-cast collector’s model of the U.S.S. Enterprise NC-1701 from the classic 1966 original Star Trek television series along with a display base.

Like all Eaglemoss Hero Collector books, Star Trek Shipyards: Starfleet Ships 2151-2293 (ISBN: 978-1-85875-522-9) may be purchased from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Indigo, independent booksellers, and select specialty stores including comic shops and gaming stores. It is priced at $29.95 in the US and $39.95 in Canada. The boxed gift set (978-1-85875-521-2) is priced at $49.95 in the US and $65.95 in Canada.

The second volume in the series, Star Trek Shipyards: Starfleet Ships 2294 to the Future, is scheduled for publication on November 13, 2018.  Both volumes are part of Eaglemoss Hero Collector’s “Premier Editions,” exquisitely designed, painstakingly researched visual guides and books that delve deep behind the scenes of some of most beloved icons of comic and sci-fi fandom.

NYCC 2018: Eaglemoss Hero Collector Reveals New Battlestar Galactica Ships

Moore.

Officially authorized by Universal Studios Consumer Products Group, all four ships in the series released to date will be on display and available at special convention pricing, including:

Star Trek’s First “A” Ship Joins XL Editions

It was only in service to Starfleet for seven years – but what monumental years those were.  It only makes sense, then, for Eaglemoss Collections to induct the fabled U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-A into its collection of monumentally sized XL Editions, available by subscription to the Official Star Trek Starships XL Editions, as well as from the Eaglemoss Shop and local comic shops.

Fans know that this is the Enterprise designed and engineered to replace the refitted Enterprise NCC-1701 destroyed at the climax of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.  This is the Enterprise the command of which was offered to Admiral James T. Kirk for a job well down at the conclusion of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (the fact that this meant Kirk would be reduced in rank back to Captain could not have pleased him – or his crew – more).

This is also the Enterprise commandeered by the Vulcan Sybok and his followers in a quest that took the entire crew beyond the Great Barrier in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.  And this is the Enterprise sent to escort Chancellor Gorkon of the Klingon Empire to the peace talks at Khitomer – only to be caught in a web of deception spun by the Klingon General Chang and several rogue Starfleet officers in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.

As significant as the Enterprise-A is to the history of Starfleet and the 23rd Century, it should also be noted that this is the first ship in Star Trek production history to carry the “A” designation, enabling the Enterprise name to be retained, reimagined and re-engineered first as the 24th Century’s Enterprise-D in Star Trek: The Next Generation, then as the Enterprise-B and Enterprise-C in stories that filled in the timeline, and then, later on, as the Enterprise-E and Enterprise-J.  So much for the notion of naming this new ship anything other than Enterprise!

Officially authorized by CBS Studios, Eaglemoss’ XL Edition of the U.S.S. Enterprise NC-1701-A is a precision die-cast model featuring high-quality ABS materials and reproduced under the supervision of Star Trek expert Ben Robinson.  At approximately 10.6 inches in length, it has been hand-painted to capture the finest detail and comes with a display stand as well as an exclusive collector’s magazine that provides an in-depth profile of the ship, with detailed annotations and a breakdown of on-board technology, crew and weaponry.

New subscribers to the Official Star Trek Starships XL Editions will receive the Enterprise-A as the first ship for the subscriber’s only price of $59.95 with free shipping. Subsequent ships in the collection, which includes the original U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701, Star Trek: The Next Generation’s U.S.S. Enterprise 1701-D and the U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656, will arrive every other month for the same price and with free shipping.  Subscribers are also eligible to receive exclusive free gifts worth over $70 and may cancel their subscription at any time.

Not ready to subscribe? For a few dollars more, the XL Editions may also be purchased directly from the Eaglemoss Shop or at your favorite comic shop – as long as supplies last.

Now that’s some Grade A Star Trek excitement!

Eaglemoss is Changing Up Their Star Trek Ship Collection Packaging

When it comes to retail merchandising, space is literally the final frontier. That was the guiding principle behind the design of new retail packaging for the best-selling ships in Eaglemoss CollectionsOfficial Star Trek Starships Collection, officially authorized by CBS Studios. The new display packaging will make it easier for shops to display the ships for shoppers.

From the iconic U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 to the original Klingon Bird-of-Prey and beyond, each die-cast, hand painted ship and its accompanying display stand is housed in a clear form-fitting plastic tray, then secured in a redesigned window box highlighting the ship’s place in the Star Trek universe. An in-depth 20-page magazine specific to that ship is slid into the box under the tray. In addition to boasting a more vibrant visual design, Eaglemoss’ new packaging also presents more options for in-store display. A sturdy retractable J-hook affixed to the back of each box makes it as easily peggable as it is shelvable. A minor enhancement to be sure, but one that’s enormously logical.

Eaglemoss’ new packaging rolls out in January 2018 in support of 12 of the most popular ships in the Official Star Trek Starships Collection, each with an MSRP of $22.95:

U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D (DEC172287) * U.S.S. Defiant NX-74205 (DEC172293)
Klingon Bird-of-Prey (DEC172288) * U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-E (DEC172294)
Enterprise NX-01 (DEC172289) * U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-B (DEC172295)
Romulan Warbird (DEC172290) * U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-C (DEC172296)
U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656 (DEC172291) * U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 (DEC172297)
