Stretch Armstrong Reaches Into Comics

Stretch Armstrong will be flexing his multi-media muscles even further this coming January when the first issue of Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters arrives.

Based on the all-new Netflix animated series and inspired by the classic toy line, Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters features Jake Armstrong, a teenage superhero who teams up with his high school friends after they are exposed to experimental chemicals that give them amazing powers. Along with his partners Ricardo Perez, AKA Omni-Mass, and Nathan Park, AKA Wingspan, they’re a diverse group of heroes who attend high school by day and fight crime by night in the futuristic Charter City!

The comics will be written by series Executive Producers and head writers Kevin Burke and Chris “Doc” Wyatt with art by Nikos Koutsis. Cover art will be provided by Aluir Amancio and Koutsis. Burke and Wyatt developed Stretch Armstrong for television in collaboration with fellow Executive Producer, Victor Cook.

The forthcoming comic book series will take place during the events of this fall’s debut season of the Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters animated series. Fans who pick up the comic series will get an early glimpse at a new villain introduced in the comics before making its broadcast debut, laying the groundwork for more adventures to come! It wouldn’t be a stretch to say Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters #1 will be available in print and digital January 2018.

Arcana and Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment to Produce The Unknowns

Arcana is teaming up with POW! Entertainment, LLC for the production and international distribution of The Unknowns, a new comic book universe.

In a release Sean Patrick O’Reilly, CEO of Arcana, said:

Stan Lee was there when Arcana published our first comic book just over ten years ago. To be working with him on a new intellectual property and creating a new universe has truly been a dream come true!

Chris “Doc” Wyatt has been at the creative helm at the project.

In the release Wyatt said:

Working with Stan and Sean has been fantastic. The Unknowns is Ben Ten meets Men in Black with a rock and roll soundtrack.

The story focuses on two average teens who help alien protectors disguise themselves as a touring rock group in order to take out undercover cells of invaders.

Stan Lee in the release said:

The Unknowns is an idea I’ve had for a while and bringing these characters to life with Arcana and Sean is exciting. He’s created his own comic book character army and he’s kind of a Canadian version of me.
