NYCC 2025: Amazing Spider-Man/Venom Death Spiral Revealed!

Revealed at the “Marvel Comics: Spider-Man and his Venomous Friends Panel” at New York Comic Con, “Death Spiral,” a new crossover saga spinning out of Amazing Spider-Man, Venom, and Eddie Brock: Carnage, kicks off this February. The event begins in Amazing Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral #1, a special one-shot, and continues in issues of Amazing Spider-Man and Venom through April.

“Death Spiral” will be written by three of today’s acclaimed Spider-Man and symbiote storytellers—Joe Kelly, Al Ewing, and Charles Soule—and feature artwork by Ed McGuinness, Carlos Gómez, and Jesús Saíz. During the panel, Ewing, Kelly and Soule, along with Executive Editor Nick Lowe, Senior Editor Jordan D. White, and Editor in Chief C.B. Cebulski, discussed recent developments, including Spider-Man’s cosmic adventures, Mary Jane becoming Venom, and Eddie Brock’s bonding with Carnage, and explained how it all leads into this terrifying saga that introduces TORMENT, a twisted new supervillain who targets Peter Parker and all those connected to him, putting Spider-Man, Venom and Carnage on a violent collision course that not everyone involved will survive!

Hela Seizes Knull’s throne and declares herself the Queen in Black in Venom #250

Knull made a not-so-triumphant return in Venom #250, the milestone issue by writers Al Ewing and Charles Soule and artists Terry Dodson, Carlos Gomez, and Todd Nauck, resurfacing as a helpless prisoner of Hela, now calling herself the QUEEN IN BLACK! But fear not, the KING IN BLACK will escape to reclaim his throne this January in Knull, a five-issue limited series written by Al Ewing and Tom Waltz and drawn by Juanan Ramirez. The dark conflict brewing between two of Marvel’s most powerful supervillains sets the stage for a major Marvel storyline erupting next year. Readers who missed this pivotal issue can pick it up next month when it returns to shops with a much-demanded second printing, featuring new versions of Carlos Gomez and Greg Capullo’s variant covers. Fans can also look forward to learning more about the new Knull series and how the QUEEN IN BLACK will impact Venom and the wider Marvel Universe next week at the Marvel Comics: Spider-Man and his Venomous Friends Panel at New York Comic Con.

RETURN OF THE KING!

Knull returns in Venom #250

To celebrate 616 Day, Marvel has announced that the landmark 250th issue of Venom hits stands in October and features the return of Knull, Venom’s greatest enemy!

Written by current All-New Venom scribe Al Ewing and drawn by superstar artist Terry Dodson, Venom #250 kicks off a major symbiote saga where Knull, the god of symbiotes, seeks revenge on Venom, who is currently bonded to Mary Jane Watson! Debuting in Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman’s seminal run of Venom back in 2018, Knull immediately took a spot amongst Marvel’s most feared and legendary supervillains, going on to headline his own crossover event as the “King in Black” and even making his big screen debut in last year’s Venom: The Last Dance. Now, he’s back with a vengeance, and Mary Jane has no idea what’s in store!

The giant-sized celebratory issue will also feature a tale by Eddie Brock: Carnage writer Charles Soule and All-New Venom artist Carlos Gomez set during Eddie Brock’s time as Venom. Plus, following the issue, All-New Venom remains Venom once more, continuing on with the legacy numbering with Venom #251!

THE RETURN OF KNULL!

Mary Jane Watson is finally in the swing of things as the new Venom host, using their powers in all-new ways to be the hero the symbiote never knew it could be! But as she cleans up the streets of New York, she remains blissfully unaware of the strands of darkness leading off into the darkness of the void. Knull, the creator of all symbiotes, was killed by Eddie Brock. Nothing could bring him back… but Knull rules over nothing. Knull has returned, and word is racing across the stars to the one who took him down before to prepare to do it again. Will Venom be ready?
