Wizard World Nashville Attendees to Receive The Walking Dead #1 Cover By Jerome Opeña

The Walking Dead #1 Cover By Jerome OpeñaWizard World, Inc. and Skybound have announced that Eisner Award winner Jerome Opeña has drawn the 18th in a yearlong series of Limited Edition Exclusive Variant Covers of The Walking Dead #1 comic, to be provided free to all full-price attendees at Wizard World Comic Con Nashville, September 25-27.

The exclusive The Walking Dead #1 edition will be produced in extremely limited quantities and is available at registration to fans at the Music City Center only while supplies last. VIP attendees will receive an additional black & white sketch version of the comic.

Opeña is a comic book artist who has been working full time in the industry since 2005. He got his start with Humanoids Publishing and went on to contribute work to: Image, Dark Horse, and Marvel.

Best known for his frequent collaborations with writer Rick Remender, he also has teamed with Jonathan Hickman on The Avengers and was one of the artists on the Infinity series.

Opeña’s latest project was the Avengers: Rage of Ultron which is a graphic novel by writer Rick Remender. The graphic novel was released in May of 2015. Opeña is currently doing various covers for Marvel Comics.

The Wizard World Comic Con Nashville celebrity roster includes Danny Trejo, Candice Patton, Jewel Staite, the Dukes of Hazzard trio of John Schneider, Tom Wopat and Catherine Bach, the CHiPs tandem of Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox and Jim Cummings, Jodie Sweetin and many others.

In addition to Opeña, Artist Alley in Nashville will feature Neal Adams, Billy Martin, Harvey Tolibao, Julian Totino Tedesco, Claudio Aboy, Stephanie Hans, Ethan Van Sciver, Arthur Suydam, Rob Liefeld, Brad Guigar and more.

Wizard World continues its 2015 schedule with its third visit to the Music City Center at Wizard World Comic Con Nashville, September 25-27. Jewel Staite, Lori Petty, the Dukes of Hazzard trio of John Schneider, Tom Wopat and Catherine Bach, the CHiPs tandem of Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox, and Jim Cummings headline the roster of celebrity guests scheduled to attend the pop culture extravaganza.

Staite, Schneider, Wopat, Bach and Estrada will appear Saturday and Sunday, September 26-27; Petty, Cummings and Wilcox will attend all three days.

Other well-known guests at Wizard World Comic Con Nashville include Adam Baldwin, Lou Ferrigno, Jason David Frank, and Chris 51 along with the cast of Epic Ink.

Wizard World is also the home of the most creative comics artists and writers on the planet. Artist Alley at Wizard World Comic Con Nashville will feature Michael Golden, Howard Chaykin, Ken Kelly, Larry Elmore, Sara Woolley, Chris Stevens, Genese Davis, Victor Dandridge, Danny Fingeroth, Greg Horn, Renee Witterstaetter and many others.

In addition, all full-price Wizard World Comic Con Nashville attendees will receive a limited edition exclusive variant cover The Walking Dead #1 comic, drawn by one of Wizard World’s talented artist guests (to be announced shortly). William Shatner, Lauren Cohan, Evan Peters Top Nashville Comic Con Celebrity Roster

Lauren CohanWilliam Shatner, Lauren Cohan, WWE Superstar Kane, WWE Divas The Bella Twins, Evan Peters, Eliza Dushku, Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs and Brian Krause and Alan Tudyk are among the celebrities scheduled to attend Wizard World Nashville Comic Con, September 26-28 at the Music City Center. It is the 12th of 16 events in the 2014 series produced by Wizard World, Inc. and will also feature a top-drawer collection of well-known comics artists and writers and a variety of activities, exhibitors and special attractions.

Shatner will appear on Friday, Sept. 26, only; The WWE stars will attend on Saturday, Sept. 27, only. Krause will appear all three days. The others are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

Wizard World Nashville Comic Con will also be the scene of a reunion of six cast members from Star Trek: The Next Generation, as Jonathan Frakes, Levar Burton, Michael Dorn, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, and Gates McFadden relive the memories of the program’s seven-year run.

Marvel Comics & Wizard World Reveal ‘God of Thunder #25’ Exclusive Variant Cover By Tom Raney For Nashville Comic Con

God of Thunder #25Marvel Comics and Wizard World have revealed the latest edition of its 2014 series of exclusive variant covers of the best Marvel titles with the unveiling of God of Thunder #25, drawn by noted artist Tom Raney. VIP attendees at the Wizard World Nashville Comic Con, September 26-28 at the Music City Center, will receive a free copy of the limited-edition book at registration.

Raney is scheduled to be on site at the event to sign copies of God of Thunder #25 (autograph fees may apply). Leading professional comic grader CGC will also be on hand to accept books for grading and Signature Series.

The exclusive version of God of Thunder #25 will be limited to 3,000 copies and provided free at registration to all Wizard World Nashville Comic Con VIP attendees, including any celebrity VIP packages.

Raney has drawn for some of the most iconic titles in comics, including Avengers Academy, Blockbusters of the Marvel Universe, X-Men Legacy, Thor, Superman and more. Recently he has been focusing on creator owned work.

Redefining the word “epic,” it’s the god-sized 25th issue of Thor: God Of Thunder featuring an amazing artistic line-up: Young Thor vs. Frost Giants. It’s the untold origin of Malekith the Accursed. King Thor’s granddaughters uncover a startling secret chapter from the history of the Thunder God, and Thor deals with the shocking fall-out from Original Sin.

Mico Suayan Variant Cover of The Walking Dead #1 Debuts at Wizard World Nashville Comic Con

Rising star artist Mico Suayan will create the seventh in a series of exclusive Wizard World variant covers of Robert Kirkman‘s The Walking Dead #1 comic, provided for free to all full-price attendees at the inaugural Wizard World Nashville Comic Con, October 18-20 at the Music City Center.  Wizard World and Skybound, Kirkman’s imprint at Image Comics, have teamed to produce the line based upon the Eisner Award-winning groundbreaking comic book series and best-selling graphic novels written and created by Robert Kirkman.

Suayan will be on hand at Wizard World Nashville Comic Con to sign copies of the limited-edition comic, produced in extremely limited quantities and available to fans only while supplies last.  The first six covers, illustrated by superstar artists Michael Golden, Arthur Suydam, Julian Totino Tedesco, Neal Adams, Ethan Van Sciver and Mike Zeck, respectively, were huge hits at Wizard World events in Portland (February, Golden), St. Louis (March, Suydam), Philadelphia (June, Tedesco), New York (June, Adams), Chicago (August, Van Sciver) and Columbus (September, Zeck).  Another creator will draw the variant cover art for Wizard World Austin Comic Con in November, the final remaining scheduled event in 2013.

After taking the comics industry by storm in 2007 with his work on Moon Knight, Suayan elevated his art even further with his breathtakingly detailed pencil work on Dead of Night featuring Werewolf by Night and Immortal Weapons.  He has since followed that up with acclaimed work for Thor and Rage of Thor, and is currently on his next major project for Marvel.

Independent third-party comic book grading service CGC, a leader in the industry, will accept TWD #1 variant and Signature Series submissions at its Wizard World Nashville Comic Con exhibitor booth.

Wizard World Adds 2013 St. Louis, Nashville Comic Cons

Wizard World, Inc. has announced the addition of shows in St. Louis and Nashville to its 2013 schedule of pop culture conventions, with Wizard World St. Louis Comic Con set to make its debut March 22-24 at America’s Center and Wizard World Nashville Comic Con debuting October 18-20 at Music City Center.  Popular Wizard World celebrity guests Stan Lee, Dean Cain, James Marsters, Ernie Hudson, Billy Dee Williams and Jason David Frank are the early celebrity roster headliners at both events.

Additional celebrities, artists, exhibitors and other attractions will be announced in the coming weeks.

St. Louis and Nashville fit comfortably in the 2013 Wizard World calendar, which also currently includes shows in Portland, Ore. (Feb. 22-24), Philadelphia (May 30 – June 2), Chicago (Aug. 8-11), Columbus, Ohio (Sept. 20-22), and Austin, Texas (Nov. 22-24).  Wizard World has also scheduled its next New Orleans date (Feb. 7-9, 2014).
