Vito Delsante, Dan Goldman, Dean Haspiel, Charlie McElvy, Jim Rugg, and Don Simpson are heading to Baltimore Comic Con

The Baltimore Comic-Con makes its annual return to the Inner Harbor’s Baltimore Convention Center on October 17-19, 2025. The Baltimore Comic-Con announces the appearance of indie comics creators Vito Delsante, Dan Goldman, Dean Haspiel, Charlie McElvy, Jim Rugg, and Don Simpson. Tickets to the show can be purchased online.

Vito Delsante is a comic book writer, letterer, and editor. He is best known for his creator-owned superhero story, Stray, with co-creator, Sean Izaakse (Challengers of the Unknown) and is the editor-in-chief of Blind Squirrel Comics, where he is currently writing and editing the mini-series, GodQuest: Milestone and putting the finishing touches on Raptorix, a “Dark Knight” bootleg that DC Comics would never dare to publish. He currently lives in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife, Michelle, and his kids, Sadie and James.

Dan Goldman is a writer-artist working in prose, comics, and video games. He is the creator of Red Light Properties, a tropical horror comic series about haunted Miami real estate. He is also co-creator of the graphic novels Chasing Echoes (Humanoids), the Priya’s Shakti series, the non-fiction political docu-comic 08: A Graphic Novel of the Campaign Trail (Three Rivers), and the Eisner-nominated Shooting War (Grand Central). Dan has also worked in game narrative, including the Emmy-winning Silent Hill: Ascension (Genvid) and The Division: Resurgence (Ubisoft). He currently lives in South Florida where he’s producing all-new RLP stories.

Emmy and Ringo Award-winning cartoonist Dean Haspiel has created for Marvel, DC/Vertigo, Archie, Image, and Webtoon, including collaborations with Harvey Pekar and Jonathan Ames. In 2023, Dino launched a series of crowdfunded “Deep Cuts” from his pantheon of creator-owned characters, featuring COVID Cop, Billy Dogma + Jane Legit, The Red Hook, and Chest Face. In addition, Haspiel is an accomplished playwright and Yaddo fellow. He lives in Brooklyn, NY.

Charlie McElvy is the writer-creator-publisher of most things Xion Studios and now Blind Squirrel Comics. His flagship title, Spider-Squirrel & Trash Panda, has been a crowdfunding success story since issue #1 and has spawned multiple spin-offs. Under Xion Studios, you’ll find the mature, the macabre, and the unique — titles such as American Yakuza, and Vagabond: Nowhere Man whereas Blind Squirrel Comics highlights more traditional comics such as GodQuest, Scott Fogg’s Nightcare, and Vito Delsante’s and Sean Izaakse Stray.

Jim Rugg is a writer, artist, designer, illustrator, and YouTuber. His comics include Hulk Grand Design, Street Angel, The PLAIN Janes, Afrodisiac, and Supermag. Honors include Eisner and Ignatz Awards and AIGA’s 50 Books/50 Covers selection. He is the co-host of YouTube’s popular comics channel — Cartoonist Kayfabe.

Megaton Man #1 detonated on the scene in December 1984, and forty years later, Don Simpson is still best known as the creator of that satirical superhero series published by Kitchen Sink Press and Image Comics. Don is also creator of the science fiction saga Border Worlds (collected by Dover in 2017), Bizarre Heroes, a universe of characters surrounding the cast of Megaton Man and self-published under Don’s Fiasco Comics imprint. and Marvel’s one-shot CRAZY! reboot (2019). A veteran of the 80s-90s indy movement, Don worked for every major comic book imprint in the late twentieth century, including Mirage Studios (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Image Comics (Splitting Image, The Savage Dragon vs. Megaton Man, The normalman-Megaton Man Special, 1963), Fantagraphics (King Kong), and DC (Wasteland, Flash Annual, Secret Origins, Action Comics Weekly). More recently, Don has been authoring his weekly prose novel, The Ms. Megaton Man Maxi-Series, and teamed up with William Messner Loebs, Jason Moore, and Tom Orzechowski on Victory Folks—The Golden Age Public Domain Supergroup. 2025 will see the release of The Complete Megaton Man Universe Volume I: The 1980s (Fantagraphics Underground), including all the Kitchen Sink Press Megaton Man comics, and Megaton Man: Multimensions (Cosmic Lion Productions), an anthology of indy creators’ interpretations of and IP crossovers with Don’s creations.

Vito Delsante, Dean Haspiel, Whitney Matheson, Charlie McElvy, and David Trustman are coming to Baltimore Comic Con

Independent comics creators from New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina will gather at the 25th Anniversary Baltimore Comic-Con, taking place at the Inner Harbor’s Baltimore Convention Center on September 20-22, 2024! The Baltimore Comic-Con has announced guests Vito Delsante, Dean Haspiel, Whitney Matheson, Charlie McElvy, and David Trustman! The convention website has details, ticketing information, and more!

Vito Delsante is a comic book writer/graphic novelist. He’s written for Action Lab Entertainment, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Image Comics, AdHouse Books, and Simon & Schuster among others, and his stories have been reprinted in other countries. He lives in Pittsburgh with his wife, Michelle, their daughter, Sadie, son, James, and their new pit bull puppy, Bruno. Find him if you can and say, “Hello.”

Vito will be promoting Kilroy in which Five Vietnam veterans face the consequences of their actions as a secret they thought they buried comes back to haunt them.

Whitney Matheson is a New York-based writer best known for creating Pop Candy (1999-2014), USA Today’s award-winning pop-culture blog. She is the author of several children’s books, including We Make Comics (2019), and she co-edited the comics anthology Pandemix: Quarantine Comics in the Age of ‘Rona (2020). Whitney will be promoting Trudy Sellout, a collection of short fiction featuring an actress who rose to fame in the ‘90s attending her first fan convention.

Charlie McElvy is the mastermind behind all things Xion Studios and now the fledgling Blind Squirrel Comics! Charlie has published award-winning role-playing game supplements and comics since 2012. Some of his most popular properties include Spider-Squirrel & Trash Panda, GodQuest featuring Milestone, American Yakuza, and The WatchGuard. He’s also the publisher of Scott Fogg’s Nightcare and Vito Delsante’s Stray comics series.

Charlie will be promoting American Yakuza, an action packed murder-mystery set in Japan.

Writer/artist David Trustman is a TEDx speaker, and Ringo Award-nominated writer and artist behind GodSlap, The Rise, and the best-selling series The Memory Arts. David is debuting Gregor! and The Best Book on Memory series.

David’s Gregor!, painstakingly told in American Sign Language, tells the story of Gregor, the universe’s greatest deaf fighter who ventures to save his long lost girlfriend with aid of his best friend, Bear.

Sean Chen, Vito Delsante, Randy Green, Howard Mackie, Philip Tan, and Caitlin Yarsky are coming to Baltimore Comic Con

Baltimore Comic-Con takes place this September 8-10, 2023 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Baltimore Comic-Con is excited to announce the appearance of comic guests Sean Chen, Vito Delsante, Randy Green, Howard Mackie, Philip Tan, and Caitlin Yarsky in 2023. Get your tickets now.

Sean Chen has been a major part of the comic book industry for over two decades. Starting with Valiant Comics, his debut book, Rai And the Future Force, topped the charts with over 800,000 copies sold. He then moved on to Harbinger and Bloodshot before landing on their flagship title X-O Manowar. Sean then found a new home at Marvel, where he started what would become the longest and most remembered run of his career, working on Iron Man. For the next decade, he had his hands on a number of titles, including Wolverine, X-Men, Spider-Man, Nova, and The Avengers.

Vito Delsante is a comic book writer/graphic novelist. He’s written for Action Lab Entertainment, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Image Comics, AdHouse Books, and Simon & Schuster among others, and his stories have been reprinted in other countries. After graduating with a BFA in Painting, Randy Green worked for several advertising agencies as an artist/art director and did some comic book work on the side. During this time, he worked mostly for Dark Horse and Image. Eventually, Randy was able to get enough steady work to pursue comic book art full-time, working for Marvel, DC Comics, and others as well. Top Cow’s Witchblade was his first long run as an artist on a title and opened the doors to many other opportunities, including Tomb Raider and a short-run creator-owned title, Dollz which he hopes to do more with in the future. Afterwards, he continued on some more work at Marvel on Emma Frost and New X-Men Academy X, always managing to squeeze in a project or cover for some of the comic companies here and there. In recent years, Randy has been doing most of his work behind the scenes for Disney Parks, and has had several books come out through Dark Horse and Aspen Comics, as well as several indie creators, and is currently working on a title, Stopwatch, written by Beau Smith coming soon from Clover Press.

Randy has been working comics full-time for nearly two decades now, and enjoys life in the country with his family, wife Amy, and children Haley and Max.

Howard Mackie was dragged kicking and screaming into writing his first comic book (Iron Man #211) a few years ago, and has been working in comic book publishing ever since. Chronicling the adventures of Ghost Rider, Spider-Man, The X-Men, X-Factor, Gambit, Wolverine, Batman, and countless other characters for Marvel, DC, and Archie Comics. His most recent work for Marvel was Ghost Rider: Return of Vengeance. Philip Tan is a comic book artist who’s worked with most of the major publishers in the last 22 years. Mostly known for his works on Uncanny X-Men, Batman & Robin, and Spawn, he recently did The Last ShadowHawk comics, and is currently drawing Frank Miller’s Ronin Book Two.

Caitlin Yarsky is a comic book artist based in Portland, OR. Her first two series were Sean Lewis’ Coyotes and Bliss at Image Comics. She was the main artist for Jeff Lemire’s Black Hammer Reborn series at Dark Horse, drew a DC one-shot called Olympus: Rebirth with Becky Cloonan and Michael Conrad, and has since drawn Catwoman and back-ups for Shazam (with variant covers from different publishers in between). She is currently working for DC and has started writing and drawing her own series.

 The Baltimore Comic Con comes to the Inner Harbor’s Baltimore Convention Center October 28-30, 2022. The Baltimore Comic Con has announced the addition comic and art superstars Chris Campana, Vito Delsante, Kami Garcia, Mitch Gerads, Tom King, and Brian Stelfreeze. Tickets for admission and VIP experiences are online now.

Fan favorite, Chris Campana has been working in comics and the art industry for over 20 years. A multi-Ringo Award nominee (Best Original Graphic Novel, Best Artist or Penciller) for his work on the indie comic hit The Adventures of Parker Reef, Chris has also worked on TMNT, Red Sonja, Vampirella, Pathfinder, Tellos, Lady Death Last Stand, Aftershock, and a multitude of indie titles.

Vito Delsante is a comic book writer/graphic novelist. He’s written for Action Lab Entertainment, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Image Comics, AdHouse Books, and Simon & Schuster among others, and his stories have been reprinted in other countries. Kami Garcia is a #1 New York Times, USA Today, and international bestselling author and comic book writer. Mitch Gerads is a multiple Eisner and Ringo award-winning illustrator who has made a career out of bringing humanity and realism to the superhuman and unreal. He is best known for his critically acclaimed work at DC Comics with writer Tom King on Mister Miracle, Strange Adventures, Batman, and The Sheriff of Babylon. He lives and draws in Phoenix, Arizona, with his wife, son, and cat.

Ringo and Eisner Award-winning Tom King is currently the writer of Batman at DC Comics, where he has also written Mister Miracle, Grayson, The Omega Men, DC Nation, Swamp Thing Winter Special, and has a story in Action Comics #1000, not to mention his award-winning work at Marvel on The Vision. King’s first book, A Once Crowded Sky, a postmodern super hero novel, was recognized by USA Today as one of the best Graphic Novels of the year. He was named by the Hollywood Reporter as one of the five comic creators to watch in 2015.

Brian Stelfreeze, one of the original Gaijin Studios members, is a multi-talented artist, with experience and credits penciling, inking, coloring, painting, and even writing. His comic book covers have gained him much attention and lauding, and his run painting covers on DC Comics’ Shadow of the Bat for over 50 issues is noteworthy by itself. Midnight Tiger: Stronger, Out Now on comiXology

Originally scheduled to be released as Actionverse #7 Featuring Midnight Tiger, this new story arc is being re-solicited as Midnight Tiger: Stronger. The four issue story arc will feature the long-awaited return of Midnight Tiger. Created by Ray-Anthony Height, Stronger will be illustrated by artist Eric Van Elslande with colors by Wilson Ramos and scripts based on Height’s plots by Vito Delsante.

In Midnight Tiger’s latest adventure, new villains are invading Apollo Bay and Gavin Shaw (aka Midnight Tiger) must balance his school life with these latest threats. And the legacy of the hero Lionsblood will change Gavin’s life forever!
