Allegory releases new series – Speed Racer returns to book shelves!
SEATTLE, November 9, 2011– Allegory, LLC is happy to announce the release of the long awaited new generation of Speed Racer stories. The new series entitled Circle of Vengeance
(Diamond Code JUL110872) consists of four issues with the first to arrive on store shelves on November 9th. The first issue kicks off a new story arc that reveals the source of the Racer family’s long-running rivalry with the evil Car Acrobatic Racing Team.
“We are very proud that Speed is in such capable hands. From page one you can tell these stories aren’t just another licensed comic book to feed open-mouthed fans. This is something that’s important to the fans; and for us, it’s our legacy,” said Michael Cisneros, Licensing Director at Speed Racer Enterprises.
Allegory has assembled an all-star cast of writers and artists to work on the first series of books, including Tommy Yune (Speed Racer, Robotech), Len Wein (Swamp Thing, X-Men), Robby Musso (Transformers), and Lee Kohse (Star Wars, Kindergoth).
Commenting on the new series, writer Tommy Yune states “Speed Racer was one of the first anime series that I enjoyed in my youth, and I’m excited to see the team at Allegory work very hard to bring new Speed Racer comics to the generations of fans.”
