SDCC 2024: Oni announces the Ted Naifeh’s Courtney Crumrin saga with Vol. 3 The Wild & The Innocent

Over 20 years ago, the world of Courtney Crumrin— the tween curmudgeon witch — was brought to life by Eisner Award-nominated writer and cartoonist  Ted Naifeh. Now, Oni Press has announced the return to the world of the mystical and magical in the final volume of the acclaimed follow-up series with The Crumrin Chronicles Vol. 3: The Wild & The Innocent … coming to comic shops and bookstores everywhere this October!

Will Crumrin, the boy who spent a hundred years in the realm of the faeries, is a bit of a trouble magnet. After defeating the dreadful forest spirit Blodeuwedd, he’s hoping for a low-key summer with his best friend Tucker—but low-key gets flipped on its head when Tucker ropes Will into coming along to a real life adventure summer camp with them and their girlfriend, Cinnamon. 

As feelings grow more complicated, the trio find themselves suddenly embroiled in a dark magic that seems to have followed Will. With their fellow campers disappearing one by one, Will and Cinnamon soon find themselves the last ones standing. Can they put their feelings of resentment aside to rescue Tucker and their friends? Or will everyone become trapped in summer camp . . . forever?

The bewitching long-running series casts its final spell on October 10th in an all-new original graphic novel concluding the mystical adventures of Courtney’s little brother, Will – the latest must-read installment of Ted Naifeh’s long-running Courtney Crumrin cycle.

The Oni-Lion Forge Publishing Group has revealed several upcoming children’s and middle-grade graphic novels coming summer 2021. 

Courtney Crumrin returns in an all new series by Ted Naifeh, The Crumrin Chronicles Vol 1: The Charmed and the Cursed, in June.

In The Crumrin Chronicles, this time it’s not just Courtney that stumbles into trouble— helping her little brother Will navigate high school might be the death of her.

Also in June, everyone’s favorite heavy-metal-karaoke-singing red panda is back as Sanrio’s Aggretsuko stars in her first original graphic novel in Aggretsuko: Little Rei of Sunshine from Brenda Hickey.

The office queen of karaoke meets her match when Retsuko’s favorite band reunites for a special concert. The Brides of Resonance return, but why do they want to take over the karaoke bar? Retsuko and friends have to fight for their right to party in a metal vs. metal vocal battle that pits Retsuko against a shadowy enemy. Will Gori survive a night of metal and moshing?
