Preview: Tech Jacket #1 launches with otherworldly artwork reveal

Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics is pleased to reveal early artwork for the first issue of the eagerly anticipated Tech Jacket.

After the out-of-this-world sales of the Tech Jacket Digital miniseries that debuted at Image Expo, Joe Keatinge and Khary Randolph announced at Emerald City Comicon that they would team up once again to launch Tech Jacket #1, the first in an all-new print series.

Zack Thompson, community college drop out, a.k.a. “Tech Jacket,” and self-titled “Galactic Guardian of the Earth” may have bitten off more than he can chew. A loved one is threatened, a new enemy rises to power, and Tech Jacket must reassess his alliances.

Tech Jacket will hit stores on 7/2. Tech Jacket #1 will be available for $2.99, you can pre-order it with Diamond Code: MAY140599. Final Order Cutoff for retailers is 6/9.

Skybound/Image Comics announced Friday at their Emerald City Comic Convention panel that Tech Jacket will return as an all new ongoing series.

Image Expo 2014: Tech Jacket Returns to Image Comics with an All-New Miniseries

The fan-favorite series Tech Jacket, returns with an all-new three-issue digital miniseries. Written by Joe Keatinge and drawn by Khary Randolph, this miniseries is the perfect introduction to Kirkman and EJ Su’s exciting superhero.

The return of Tech Jacket picks up a bit later than the original run. Keatinge gave some details about the series:

The original Tech Jacket run was largely about Zach having his role as our planet’s Galactic Guardian thrust upon him, fumbling with this new title, unsure of anything he encountered. Here Zach’s firmly in his position—perhaps even getting a little too comfortable with it—and finding out that being Earth’s defender from what lies beyond is more dangerous than he could ever imagine.

Ravaged by the Invincible War, Zach Thompson needs some time away from being Earth’s galactic guardian. But when his vacation doesn’t go as planned, Tech Jacket must return to face a brand new threat.

Tech Jacket, issues 1-3, will all be available exclusively for one week on www.imagecomics.com, before going live across all digital platforms. All three issues will be available simultaneously in 2014.
