Space 1889 Returns to the Tabletop with New Adventures
Strange Owl Games has announced a crowdfunding campaign for Space 1889: After, featuring a premium offset print edition of the 5E Core Rules Book, a brand new Adventure Compendium, and a tabletop-ready Map Book. The campaign brings new content to one of tabletop gaming’s earliest steampunk roleplaying settings while creating a high-quality collector’s edition.
Originally released in 1988, Space 1889 helped establish the Victorian science fiction aesthetic that would later become closely associated with steampunk. Set in a solar system where ether-fliers travel between planets and scientific innovation pushes beyond the limits of conventional understanding, the setting invites players to explore the known galaxy.
Optimized for the fifth edition of the most popular roleplaying game, Space 1889: After advances the timeline and places players at the forefront of a new age of exploration. Crews command their own ether-flier as they uncover ancient alien technologies, navigate political intrigue between worlds, and confront threats hidden within the Great Dark.
The campaign includes:
- A premium offset print edition of the Space 1889: After Core Rules book
- A brand new Adventure Compendium featuring four missions across the solar system
- A spiral-bound Map Book with tabletop-ready encounter maps
- Play as humans, Martians, Venusians, Moonfolk, Ogres, and Clockwork Automata
- Command your own ether-flier and chart the Great Dark
- Explore strange worlds powered by Victorian science and ancient alien technology
- Compatible with the most popular roleplaying game system.
