Square Enix Reveals Marvel Avengers

During their E3 press conference, Square Enix revealed our first look at Marvel’s Avengers developed by Crystal Dynamics.

The game takes place on A-Day in San Francisco where the Avengers are opening a new headquarters. Something goes terribly wrong resulting in destruction and death and the Avengers are to blame. The Avengers are outlawed and five years later must come together when a new threat arises.

The game is both single player and co-op combining cinematic storytelling and action in an original story. You’ll play as Captain America, the Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, and Iron Man.

The game features four player co-op where you can “customize a growing roster of heroes.” You’ll play against new threats. Every new hero, in every region, will be delivered at no additional cost. No loot boxes. No pay to win scenarios.

Marvel’s Avengers is out for PS4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC worldwide. “Awesome surprises” will be coming to the Playstation audience including early beta access and “unique benefits” to be revealed in the future.

The game comes out May 15, 2020.

E3 is right around the corner and one of the most anticipated games is Marvel’s Avengers by Square Enix. Its been revealed that not only is the game coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but also to Google Stadia.

The revelation came fromt he game’s Twitter account where an image of the poster on the side of a building shows the four platforms.

We can also assume it won’t by coming to the Nintendo Switch based on this.

The game is the first of a multi-game partnership between Marvel and Square Enix. We’ll learn more about it very soon.

Final Fantasy Gets Two New Art Books from Dark Horse

The highly successful partnership continues to expand as Dark Horse and Square Enix offer two new Final Fantasy art books, Miniature Final Fantasy: No Adventure Too Large and FF DOT: The Pixel Art of Final Fantasy.

Containing detailed sprite sheets that showcase the pixel composition of Final Fantasy’s beloved characters, highlighting tools used by the developers, and including a special interview with Kazuko Shibuya—the character pixel artist for the Final Fantasy series. FF DOT is an extraordinary 296-page hard cover art book that immerses readers into an iconic aspect of the Final Fantasy history and experience.

Miniature Final Fantasy: No Adventure Too Large arrives in comic shops and bookstores December 17, 2019 and FF DOT arrives a month later on January 28, 2020 for $24.99. Miniature Final Fantasy is available for pre-order for $19.99.

Square Enix is Launching a U.S. Publishing Line for Comics, Books, and Art Books

This fall, the worlds of Square Enix are coming to comics, books, and art books. The video game publisher has announced a deal with Penguin Random House Publisher Services. They’ll bring iconic game properties like Space Invaders, Final Fantasy, and Tomb Raider to the American market under their own banner for the first time. Currently, some of these properties have comics and manga released from other publishers.

In Japan, Square Enix is more than a video company. They also release books, magazines, and manga, so it’s not a stretch for them to bring their material to the U.S. themselves.

The new line will launch this fall with one prose book, Final Fantasy XV: The Dawn of the Future, and three manga: Hi Score Girl, A Man and His Cat, and the complete edition of Soul Eaters.

SDCC 2018: Titan and Square Enix Announce the Life Is Strange Creative Team

Titan Comics and Square Enix have announced the creative team of the all-new comic book series set in the world of the acclaimed videogame series, Life is Strange.

Titan’s new comic series is written by Emma Vieceli with interior art and covers by Claudia Leonardi of IHQ Studios, and colors by Andrea Izzo. The series will launch with a cover by superstar Manda Schank, with more to be revealed.

The first issue of the four-part comic miniseries launches in November 2018.

Titan Comics’ Life is Strange returns readers to Arcadia Bay in the company of fan-favorite characters Max Caulfield and Chloe Price, charting the shocking course of a possible future after one of the two endings of the game.

The first game in the series, Life is Strange, which connects directly to this new comics series, follows the story of Max Caulfield, a senior majoring in photography who discovers that she can rewind time when trying to save her best friend Chloe Price.
