The Original Podcast, Marvel’s Wastelanders: Old Man Star-Lord Debuts on June 1 on SiriusXM

Marvel and SiriusXM will launch their first original scripted podcast series, Marvel’s Wastelanders: Old Man Star-Lord on June 1. The first two episodes will be available starting Tuesday, June 1 on the SiriusXM app, Pandora, Stitcher, and all major podcast platforms. The 10-episode series will be released weekly, kicking off season one of Marvel and SiriusXM’s multi-part Marvel’s Wastelanders podcast series, which will feature other Marvel heroes including Old Man Wolverine, Old Man Hawkeye, and Grey Widow.

Marvel’s Wastelanders: Old Man Star-Lord stars Timothy Busfield as Star-LordChris Elliott as Rocket, and Nadine Malouf as Cora. The series will also feature Patrick Page as Kraven the Hunter, with Vanessa Williams as Emma Frost and Danny Glover as Red.

In a shadowy alternate future of the Marvel Universe, the Villains have finally won and Heroes are nothing but a bad memory. Marvel’s Wastelanders: Old Man Star-Lord finds Peter Quill and Rocket a little paunchier, a little slower, and a lot saltier than they were during the glory days of the Guardians of the Galaxy. They quickly discover the Earth isn’t what it used to be either, when they crash land 30 years after Doctor Doom takes over a barren, desolate wasteland and all the world’s super villains seized control, including outlaw Ghost Riders and the bloodthirsty Kraven the Hunter. The series is produced in association with Wave Runner Studios and written by Benjamin Percy, directed by Kimberly Senior, and sound designed with original scoring by Mark Henry Phillips. The series is produced by Jenny Radelet Mast from Wave Runner Studiosand executive produced by Dan Buckley, Joe Quesada, Daniel Fink, Sarah Amos, Stephen Wacker, Ellie Pyle, and Jill DuBoff from Marvel.

Also cast in the series are actors Eric T. Miller, Elizabeth Francis, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Marylouise Burke, Blake Stadnik, Dylan Baker, and Aasif Mandvi.

Marvel Declassified is Now Airing on SiriusXM

Marvel has launched Marvel Declassified, its newest non-fiction narrative podcast series, exclusively on SiriusXM! For its first 10-episode season, the series focuses on the rich, dynamic, and evolving history of Marvel Comics—as told through a contemporary lens. The first episode of Marvel’s Declassified is available now exclusively on SiriusXM.

Each week, writer and comic book expert Lorraine Cink and acclaimed journalist and critic Evan Narcisse will give SiriusXM listeners unprecedented access behind the scenes of Marvel Comics, featuring writers, artists, editors, and industry insiders who have shaped Marvel’s iconic storytelling.

In its premiere episodeMarvel Declassified explores a time when comedy, romance, westerns, sci-fi, and horror defined Marvel’s comics, leading up to a historical shift that triggered the return of Super Heroes. Other episodes during the season will cover how New York City became the core of the Marvel Universe; the now-legendary impact of Marvel Knights, the beginnings of Marvel’s vast multiverse, war-era comics, and more. The series will also shed light on the societal impact of fandom, representation, and the evolution of some of Marvel’s most iconic characters like Captain America, Black Panther, the Hulk, and Captain Marvel, and what their roles meant—and can mean—for Marvel fans around the world.

In addition to SiriusXM’s recently-announced slate of original podcast series and highly-curated selection of popular shows, SiriusXM subscribers with select streaming plans will be able to tune in to exclusive new podcast series like Marvel/Method, a weekly podcast on Marvel fandom hosted by Method Man; Marvel’s Declassified, a nonfiction deep dive into the history of Marvel Comics; along with a thrilling new multi-part original scripted audio series, Marvel’s Wastelanders, kicking off in 2021.

Marvel, Pandora, and SiriusXM Celebrate Marvel’s Birthday with Marvel’s 80th: The Road to Marvel Comics #1000

During Marvel’s 80th anniversary panel at D23 Expo 2019, Marvel, SiriusXM, and Pandora announced plans to launch an all-new exclusive music station and limited-time channel: Marvel’s 80th: The Road to Marvel Comics #1000 to celebrate 80 years of Marvel. The Pandora station and limited-time SiriusXM channel 4, and SiriusXM On Demand, starting Thursday, August 29.

Released just two days before Marvel’s birthday, Marvel’s 80th: The Road to Marvel Comics #1000 will take listeners on a journey through eight decades of music, pop culture, and the Marvel Universe, starting in 1939, the historic year that featured the debut of the Human Torch and marked the birth of the sprawling Marvel Universe that fans know today.

Host Mike Rubens, known for his comedic work with Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, will guide listeners year to year with lively commentary tying each song to some of the most defining events in the Marvel Universe – along with the real-life history that happened right outside our windows.

The celebratory music programming, specially curated by Marvel with Pandora, and SiriusXM, features some of the most iconic songs through the ages, including classics from Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley; era-defining songs from The Rolling Stones, Duran Duran, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Madonna, and Prince; and explosive chart-topping hits from Eminem, Kanye West, The Weeknd, and more from the most popular music artists across generations.

Marvel Comics #1000 goes on sale August 28 at comic shops everywhere.
